Ideas for gifts for the groomsmen & Dads (Impossible!)

Booboo81, 19 April, 2013 at 16:26 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi!

My G2B and I have impossible Dads to buy for ? Neither wear suits so cufflinks and ties are out, they don't drink heaps so hip flasks and tankards or bottles of fine wines/whiskies are out, they don't 'keep stuff' so keepsakes are out! My Dad is a computer techie (but could buy anything like that himself for half the price), into gardening and motorhoming but is one of those 'If I needed it I already bought it' men and the groom's Dad is retired and lives out in the countryside. He potters in the veg patch but has everything he needs and isn't materialistic so wouldn't appreciate anything which wasn't practical. Nightmare! They don't wear aftershave... I'm at my wits end! They've both said "Don't you dare buy us anything". Any ideas people?! We're so appreciative of the financial support and love they've given us but they don't need or want anything... and definitely don't appreciate 'pointless' stuff. I bought Dad for Christmas a membership to a Wildlife trust that they could visit when they go motorhoming around the country but That Was My Last Good Idea. What have you all bought your Dads and FILs?

Also, then there's the Best Man and Usher... sigh... why are men so hard to buy for?

Budget about £30-50 each.

Thank you!! ?

I am sure I can help. I have loads of gifts for the wedding party. I do have some gorgeous personalized garden journals which are nice. Also we have personalized books on certain football teams, other sports and famous titles with personalized names in and a personalized message in the leaf which is nice as you could say thank you there. And then we have all sorts of other bits and bobs for everyone everything can be personalised glasses, mugs, chocolate, sweets loads for best man, ushers, and dads.

Whisky! My step dad sounds just like your Dad.

His worst idea of a gift would be an inscribed tankard (to be honest I think they're pointless). Both Dads like whisky so we bought them some nice single malt, they were perfectly happy. They don't like 'clutter' gifts either. Or suits.
