If you are having a wedding website, what are you putting on invitations?

MusicalJules, 24 January, 2015 at 21:46 Posted on Planning 0 2

As the title suggests, starting to think about invitations and as I am in the middle of preparing a website with all the information, i guess this means I don't need to put everything on the invite so might be able to save some pennies, however there will be some people I guess, that might not want to reply via the website etc.

Would be interested to hear what others have done!

TIA Smiley smile

Our invitations said the date, time, location, our address and rsvp deadline (which many ignored). Then 'for accommodation and other details please visit ... (Address of our website). We didn't do online RSVPs as there are too many technophobes in our family.

Just a heads up it's unlikely guests will pay attention to a website - it's still generally expected that the invite has the key info on. You may get a lot of contact from guests wanting to know the details.

Our wedding website stats say it has been viewed loads yet loads of people still ask when it is, what time, when's our Honeyfund going to be ready - all info, including link to our honeyfund is on the site already!

We too have turned off the rsvp function on the website.

Not wanting to put you off, just sharing our lack of success Smiley smile The majority of our guests are 25-65 so you would have thought they would find using a website easy!

Our wedding website was a huge success and we had all but 1 day response back with 2 weeks until the deadline.

There were a few people that we knew didn't have internet and some we weren't sure about (about 5) so we just printed a little insert that read 'we know not everyone uses the internet so if you would like to RSVP by post then please send to.......'

Our invites had minimal wording as I wanted people to interrogate the website, also don't forget most people if they don't know how to do something online they will get a friend or family member to help them

    Not very clear I'm afraid
