If you don't mind me asking............

Blondie28, 1 August, 2012 at 07:11 Posted on Planning 0 25

How much are you all paying for your photographers and what exactly is that getting you? Currently looking at a few options but if anyone has any recommendations in the Lancashire area then please let me know!

Thanks all!

    Always a good question....

What's important for you that you get from/with a photographer? Other brides could match you up with someone they've found already!

At the moment, it's looking at about £1250. That's for engagement shoot, 2 TOGs on the day, preparations through to first dance, all images on a disc. Our wedding is peak season, and we live in the south east, so not sure if location is a factor in price or not.

We are in Berkshire and we paid £650 - TOG was there from 12 noon (got ready at the venue & got married at 2.30pm), he left about half hour after the first dance about 9pm, got 400 prints in 2 albums, a low res disk with all shots on and a photo book with about 40 shots in. We also purchased full rights to the photos and a high res disk for a further £100 as additional photos were £1.25 each or we could buy the disk and get re-prints in Jesspos/Boots for friends and family at 23p each.

Ours was £1100, which included 8 hours coverage on the day, a disc with shared copyright to photos and a coffee table photobook.

TBH, we weren't remotely bothered about the book or an album, we were most concerned with the style and standard of their work.

ETA: It was in Ibiza so was actually 1300 EURO

We're getting mates rates, but if we were to pay what they charge non-mates we would be paying £700. This includes full day coverage (from church through to first dance) 2 photographers & 1 assistant and a disk of all photos fully edited.

    We're paying £350 though.

Well my FBIL has very kindly offered his services for free and says that he will get everything and anything he can (cheeky shots included!) He's also said that he will create a DVD album for them, which is incredibly kind of him!

I'm another lucky so and so with mates rates £300 for everything.

The girl is great with a fantastic eye and she has also agreed to take some pics of our dogs too included in the £300.

I nearly fell off my chair when she gave me the price.

    xx

This. What you get is always important but try and book your Photographer on the quality of their work. It's what you will be left with ?

These mates rates sound really good. An ex colleague of OH had another ex colleague do his wedding at mates rates and it still cost him £2,500!! I nearly died of shock when he told me.

The one we're looking at and hoping is as good as their website pics is £790 for

    - pre wedding consultation

    - venue visit with pre-wedding shoot

    - photo from this shoot mounted in a signing frame for the reception

    - all day shooting - bride prep to first dance and some discoing

    - online gallery of all the pics with a password

    - all shots touched up, effects (b&w, sepia)

    - 40 page/70 image album (we pick photos)

    - CD of all the images copyright free

    - 3 12 x 8 prints of our choice

    - 1 16 x 12 print of our choice mounted/framed (can't remember which)

Really hope the pics are as good in real life Smiley atonished x

We're getting married in Lancashire and put a lot of time into researching local photographers to find the style and quality we were looking for.

We went for Mark Tattersall https://mark-tattersall.co.uk/blog/ as we were really impressed with his pictures and he seemed really nice when we met up with him.

We also considered Emma B http://www.emmabphotography.com/index2.php#!/home but she wasn't able to meet us the weekend we'd set aside to find a tog.

Ours is £1050, for the whole day and all photos on DVD, and the tog's a relative! So that's mates rates! He is incredibly talented though so we're just happy to have him do it for us. We could get photo books through him too but they started at about £200 so we're just going to look online and see what else we can get.

Oh and that's in Cheltenham in the Cotswolds

We are paying £1500 and our tog is based in Essex (although we are in Hertfordshire, we are getting married in Essex, and it's right on the border)

We are getting exactly the same as Kirstabubble:

    • Pre wedding visit to the venue to discuss your wedding a month or two before your big day.

    • A mini engagement shoot on the day of your venue visit with all your images edited and presented on CD

    • Reportage photography on the day from getting ready until first dance with 2 photographers

    • Full editing of all your images

    • Hi res DVD of all your images, so you can print as many prints as you want yourself

    • Leather presentation CD case embossed with your names
