If you have Sky TV, must you have a BT phone line?

I don't think it matters really, so long as you have a phone line to connect the box up to as far as I know it should be fine. I'd have thought they would have some info on the Sky website, perhaps try looking in a frequently asked questions section?

I know we haven't got a BT landline and our Sky works fine but i'm unsure whether that helps much as we don't have BT over here anyway.

You have to have a phone line, but I don't think that it needs to be supplied by BT.

You need the line for them to connect the box to, so it shouldn't matter who the supplier is. Deffo worth checking with Sky though.

No, you don't. They will probably tell you that you have to though. As soon as we had ours installed we just unplugged it. I think it's only so you can order movies etc.

We'vealways had NTL/Virginand hadsky so no you don't have to.

We haven't got a phone line at all but we've still got Sky TV. The phone line is only so you can order box office movies but you can still do that without the phone line being plugged into the box by ringing them instead. As long as you've got a Sky box, viewing card and dish outside you'll be able to get Sky TV, though no doubt Sky will try to tell you that you do need a phone line.
