I think I might keep working for a bit, I'd not like to let down the team unexpectedly. Say I won a lot of money in the next month or so, I'd stay until mid-December, which was when I was planning to go on maternity leave anyway.

Then I'd probably stay at home with the kiddies until they hit school-age, then maybe find something part-time or like Flow says, find a business idea to start up. I would be bored otherwise. Mr J would give up work in a heartbeat, I know he would!

Or I might like to do some charity work/volunteering etc.

My mum is looking to retire soonish (in the next couple of years) and says she wants to do something unrelated to her current job. She's thinking she might want to do some tutoring or something, very very part-time like a few hours a week.

    Would I heck.

I wouldn't sit on my arse and do nothing for the rest of my life - with that kind of money there are loads of interesting and rewarding projects you could get involved in.

I certainly wouldn't be getting up and coming to an office for 9 hours a day though.

Good grief no. I'd give up work with a FAR smaller win!

Would give up work the minute it was confirmed! I'd sit around on my backside for a couple of months and enjoy doing nothing, but then I'd probably start some sort of business.

I think I'd work part time, just to keep me busy!

I'd keep working, I adore my job. I'd probably give a sizeable donation to my charity and expand the project considerably but I'd never quit.

    Nope no way I'd work!

I'd enjoy time with my family. Go on lovely holidays during the school holidays and if I was bored I'd go shopping for new shoes!

I'd be so busy with the plans to build my dream house for the first year anyway.

    ....Ah if only!

Hello no. I'd probs quit even if I won £1m. I'd travel and come home and do something more worthwhile.

Damn, now I'll be daydreaming how I'd spend £148 million, and then I'll remember I actually have less than £148 in my bank, after payday ☹️

Ive got so much i would do with that kind of money if i was to win it! Firstly i would pay off all our debts , i would find or build us the perfect house , put money into trust funds for each of my children and stepchildren ,then have some fun with it maybe fly my family to disney for a week and stay in the disney land hotel and then have my ultimate dream of having my own plus size bridal shop! Also give some money to the local childrens centre ,they did so much for us after my youngest son was born and i would love to give something back.

I would do something eventually but it would take a very long time to get bored of travelling round the world. I can imagine work is a lot more pleasant when you don't need to do it.

I would quit my current job, go on an amazing round the world trip while my dream house was being built then start working on my own business or projects that interest me.

I'd go and live by the sea in Cornwall and buy a really good wetsuit so I could surf every day and set up a charitable trust so charities all have to be nice to me for a change. Poacher turned gamekeeper!

I think I'd work out my notice period, although it would be damn hard! Just because myself and the H2B would probably eventually want to start up our own video game studio, and I wouldn't want to piss anyone off at my current company by up sticks and leaving just like that because the video games industry is so small! But I think at first we would be doing plenty of travelling, seeing the world, before finding a place we wanted to live (probably nearer to both our families than we are currently) and buying a bloody big house Smiley laugh

I've always thought if I won the Lotto on a ticket I bought I'd really want to try and keep it quiet from *everyone* until I had the money in my account, then I would buy H2B an awesome sports car or something and just casually have it parked outside our house with a note to say its his, or just do a huge bank transfer to his savings account and see how long it takes him to notice Smiley laugh Although in reality I'm pretty sure if I found out I had won there would be no way I could keep it quiet from him or the family!

Exactly this, there is no way I would carry on working for anyone other than myself. I don't think I would even work my notice period once the money had cleared in my account.

I would leave my job for £50,000. Just enough to pay of debts, have a wicked wedding and honeymoon, deposit for a house and for me to leave work and retrain and finally do something I enjoy.

If I won £148 million I would tell my bosses to shove the job up their ar$e, thank those who have made my time there bearable (give them a few thousand or summat) buy a house or two, go travelling, see all my and OH's family happy and debt/mortgage free, share some around my friends, help some charities and go do some volunteer work all over the world, then figure out what we want t do and probably set up some kind of business.
