If you won the lottery...

daisymoo86, 19 April, 2016 at 12:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

What would you spend your winnings on? And I mean a big win (not just £80!!).

For me, I would like to have an amazing holiday to somewhere we have always wanted to go but could never afford. (Maybe Thailand and Australia). Then I would pay off my mum and dads 9as well as our own!) mortgage. I would also buy my parents a new car. I would quit work and start working for a charity instead.

I would be sensible and save some for the future, but I would also make sure we are comfortable now Smiley smile

I'd give half to charity, buy our forever home and take our families on holiday.

Then I'd invest the rest and live off the interest.

I'd still work though - I'd be bored stiff at home all the time haha!

Apart from all the obvious like money to charities, pay off the kids mortgages, and find the best and lovliest care home for dad who will need one soon as his illness means he won't be able to stay at home or find him a full time burly nurse carer etc I would.....

Buy more holiday homes. I'm already 'retired' and husband is self employed and works from home so we can be away a lot and yes ii could afford to live in a hotel but i like my own homes. im away a lot in our place in Spain but I would love to be selfish and greedy and have a place in Cornwall and the Yorkshire dales too.

Then lots of travelling in between. Lots of Arctic trips and European cities more so than long haul as I think my days of long haul flights are done now.

Would love a trip into space lol. Fly in a MIG. Climb a glacier. Hopefully will do the last one soon without a lottery win.

Ifmimcoild give up ll of that and find a cure for cancer I would.

I've always said I would split into three portions.

One for me, one for my OH and one for a joint pot of money.

With the joint pot of money we could buy a house and do it up.

Then with my part of the money I would give away half of that to family members and the other half I would invest some of that and treat myself with the rest- mainly clothes I think haha!

And one I forgot earlier. America on a storm chaser (tornado) holiday. I have found one and asked my other half but I got that look that says "are you completely insane" and he's told me I'm on my own for that one. So that's my lottery. Lots of holidays and travelling and adventures before I pop my cloggies.

H2B and I are both really rubbish at spending money, we've both been brought up to save! (Boring, I know!)

But I'd do my best to spend some of it! First would definitely be a nice big house, with room for plenty of family to stay and an office for when I work from home! We'd probably spend a lot on holidays as we love travelling; we've been to India, Thailand and a few spots in America, so next would most likely be New Zealand, Japan and China!

After that we'd probably give most of it to charity as we'd never spend it!

After houses and new cars I would buy a house in corfu so we could summer there. Also pay off certain peoples mortgages at work. There's a few girls who work so hard just to pay their bills and would love to help them. If I won enough to stop work I would go to uni and re train for something else. Hubby would never stop work as he loves it and he would be able to afford the best equipment to do his job. I would like to be a make up artist or fashion designer (I originally did a national diploma in fashion) so would maybe go back to that sort of thing. I'd want to be self employed so I could pick and choose what to do. Would hate to have kids that didn't see their parents working and just living off lottery winnings!

It really does depends, if it's just 1mil, as I live in South London once I bought the new house and new car that'd be it.

If we're talking the 180 mil euro wins. I'd buy 2 islands, one in the pacific or Caribbean, one in Europe (last time we island perving nice one near Italy) if we're lucky to have kids, then I'd wait till they were older to start my working life again, and a few other personal things, some charities and a few houses for some very close friends.

I probably wouldn't move but I would build an extension over the garage for a master bedroom with en suite and also go into the loft. I would have the driveway done and buy a new Ford C Max. I don't want a fancy car but i would want a personalised number plate just to be a tw*t.

My parents have paid off their mortgage but I would pay for lots of holidays and I would go to all the places I want to go. Brazil, Macau and the surrounding cities inc Hong Kong, Japan, Cambodia, India, Canada, America etc.

I would probably get plastic surgery too.

AND ALL THE SHOES IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obligatory new forever house, car, pay off parents mortgages etc. A third child. We've decided to stop at 2 as we just about get by but having money means bigger family. My fella would set up his own drumming school and I would love to get a degree in history and do something geeky. Couldn't give up work so would love to do something I love!

I'd take my daughter to Japan and buy a meet and greet with Babymetal for her and get her artwork published.

but tbh an 80 win would do me for now haha!

Ummm boring stuff like pay off mine and h2b's Credit Cards, pay off the mortgage, pay for our OWN wedding rather than having my mum pay for it...

Then, I'd pay an absolute fortune for our Honeymoon. We'd fly first class and only stay in the BEST hotel Smiley smile I'd also buy a bigger house (I love ours, but we're outgrowing it!) and I'd pay for h2b to go on an intensive driving course so that he can pass his test and I'd buy him his own car Smiley smile

I'd also give a load of it to various charities and help some family out with stuff Smiley smile

Depends on how much but I'd love to buy some land and have a cul-de-sac built on it with houses around it, a bit like Neighbours. Then I'd give a house to my son and our favourite friends so that we could all live close to each other mortgage free. My house would have to have a fully equipped gym including trampoline and a swimming pool.

I'd also have plastic surgery; face lift, arm lift, boob lift and a nose job and liposuction to give me a waistline as my waist measures the same as my hips.

Other than that, like most people it'd be give money to charity and travel a lot. I wouldn't work as I'd be far too busy. Me and H2B hate our jobs so we'd quit in an instant

I would day half on charity, but I will invest a big part so I can be rich for the rest of my life Smiley winking

Afterwardsm I would buy myself some Loubis and a Chanel bag and fly away to a around-the-world trip!

Also, I would by a new car, it will be hard to decide between a Porshe, Jaguar or a Ferrari, but I would figure out which one matches my personality best Smiley smile Smiley smile Smiley smile

Ok, this is intended for the right reasons.......If I won the lottery, as a photographer, I would like to ensure that those that have less budget, still get a quality photographic record of their day.....All weddings are important, whatever the budget.
