Il Spose de gio dress?

acd, 14 January, 2010 at 19:07 Posted on Planning 0 3

I've fallen in love with the il spose de gio dresses but not quite so in love with the price tags new! Does anyone know anyone selling any of the models...? I particularly like the powder blue dresses but would consider most of them as an option....

    Hi

    Any luck with the dress?

I notice your getting married near Petersfield. We've had a look at all the beautiful barns etc, but like you am hoping to find somewhere cheaper and more flexible with their caterers. I've reached a dead end, so if could you let me know any venues you found along those lines i'd be really grateful.

    Thank you

    Hi RJV,

No joy with the dress sadly but it was a long shot as they're very popular so no doubt go v quick.

In terms of venues, I too have reached a dead end and have decided I'm going to have to go down the marquee route at my parents house. I was looking at village halls/cricket pavillions etc and did find a couple of nice ones but the village halls had quite a lot of restrictions (one said no standing outside, no live music, no high heels on the floor etc etc). I also found a couple of cricket pavillions i really liked but they are about 35 minutes drive from the church we're getting married in so we decided it was too far (plus cricket pavillions don't have any saturdays free in cricket season (april-sept) so you would have to have a friday - although that didn't bother us, i suppose it might some people).

I can send you the links for the cricket hallsin brook and witley if you fancy, very pretty and typical english. Also, have you looked at Elstead cricket hall, it's quite close to Petersfield and a friend of mine got married there last summer otherswise I would have gone for that - it's lovely (the view) and the hall can be dressed...and she managed to get a saturday so it's worth a look.

Let me know if that helps and if you find anything in the meantime!

Sorry to crash your thread, ladies, I just wanted to say that it;s such a shame the barns weren't a bit more flexible. I do love your idea of having a marquee at your parents though, ACD...that's what we did for our reception and it was lovely. It's nice to be able to relax, and pick all the suppliers you want, and have that feeling that you are "at home". It chucked it down all day at ours too, and it didn't matter at all!

Good luck with your planning, and with finding your il spose dress!

    Hi ACD,

Thank you for the cricket hall pointers, they look great, and having the outdoor setting is what I was looking for. I've only just read this post otherwise I would have arranged a visit, in the meantime we decided to go for manor barn in buriton which I'm really happy with.

I'm glad you've sorted your venue, you can't beat a marquee wedding! Any dress yet?

    All the best
