I'm an aunty

Mrs Winkle, 10 September, 2008 at 14:28 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 20

We got back from NYC this morning, and whilst we were away my sister developed pre-eclampsia and had to have an emergency c section on Saturday. So, I missed the birth of my first nephew. Not only that, but my Mum was in France and my Dad was at a wedding in Bournemouth so my poor sis had no family around for two days. Anyway, welcome to the world my teeny weeny nephew who weighs just short of 5lbs. I get to meet him tonight - vay, vay excited.

    Woo Hoo Aunty Winkle.

Fab news - hope they are both OK.

I know that feeling of being alone - 2nd child arrived, 3 hours later JMP was off to Palma to play golf, My Mum & Sister were in Spain & my Uncle was on a boat in the Atlantic somewhere.

How massively exciting, and I'm so relieved that your sis is okI I guess it makes missing the birth, while massively disappointing, pretty insignificant, I'm sure. Hope you're putting up some pics on FB so we can drool. Many many congrats Aunty Winkle. ? Hope you had an awesome time in NY too. ?

Congratulations Auntie Winkle and best wishes for your new nephew and your sister.

Don't worry - I didn't see any family for days either, it's not necessarily a bad thing post birth.?

    Congratualtions!

For me, I would have preferred help and visitors a little later on rather than at once in hospital! Everyone came at once and then I was left alone. In fact I wanted the three of us time for the first few days , then all the family. So, in short. I think she'll appreciate you being around from now on .I've made no sense, but nevermind.

He's been named since she was about 2 months pregnant - Dylan. Fab name.

NYC was fab - beautiful weather, shopping (lots in Baybeh Gap), some great meals, saw Lou Reed twice (once he was sat two tables away at the place where we had lunch), went to see the Mens final at the US Open, spent time with our friends and their fab little son. I just wish I wasn't so jetlagged now. Bleurgh.
