I'm back with some news

delvesje, 5 November, 2009 at 08:13 Posted on Planning 0 20

I am sure alot of you will remember the problems I had a few month's ago, which resulted in me cancelling our wedding. Well, o/h is now getting professional help and after having spent some time apart, we have decided to go ahead and get married.

Not as we first planned it, but in Cuba next October/November. We have just come back from our second holiday over there and absolutly love the country and the people. So we are now planning a beach wedding. The hotel we stayed in have a brilliant wedding package, so e-mails are flying back and forth.

Now, can any of you lovely ladies give me any ideas for a wedding dress? My origanal dress I bought is too heavy and thick, I would melt in it and its too blingy. I havent a clue what I want really, except I want a long one without a train.

I have been lurking on and off here, mostly reading the wedding reports, Congratulations to all of you xx

Can't help too much on the dress front, maybe something in a grecian style would work?

Just wanted to say welcome back and I'm so pleased that everything is now heading in the right direction for you

Just wanted to say welcome back and glad things are working out ok for you.

A wedding in Cuba sounds lovely - can't help so much with the dress right enough. Does Augusta Jones not do a lot of dresses for weddings abroad?

Welcome back, things are looking great for you Congratulations

My bridesmaids dresses where mori lee, where chiffon 2 piece. But they actually did the dress in white and ivory which was classed as a wedding dress came with a ciffon shawl to. They where a zip up back and no train. They had a tassle on the side, which the lady in the shop suggested to add a broch diamontie to give a bit of sparkle.

If you need any more info on them let me know

Delvesje I'm so happy you're back and everything is going well for you!

There is a Pronovias grecian style dress called Magia (can't add the pic unfortunately) which is very floaty and would keep you cool.

Oh it's so great to see you back. Glad your OH is getting professional help, that shows commitment. Your plans definetly have changed a bit now lol....Cuba sounds luvely. Just got back from dress shopping myself, but didnt really see anything suitable for a beach wedding, but I suppose something floaty would be nice and also quiet light...

Anyway, good to have you back ?

    Hi.

How exciting - a new dress. I tried these lovely dresses on light, hardly any train on.

Congratulations delvesje. Great to hear things are looking up for you. I had a very floaty dress (isola by Augusta jones - if you google it you'll find it) but would be looking in places like monsoon, or I think that a few designers do 'destination' lines? Good luck!

    Welcome back!

I had a bridesmaid dress for my wedding in Greece but in Ivory, was still pretty hot though so I'd say try to go for something more floaty! Taffeta travelled really well though x x
