Stepped on the scales this morning. I've lost exactly 6 stone in total. 3 more to go...

Bloody hell, a stone a month. Fancy setting up a line in personal training?

You're in Norn Iron aren't you? I could fill time between meetings next week ?

I am indeed. I could run around the buildings you're in while you do your day job or even better be doing some sort of press ups under the desk, noone would notice ?

I could drive really slowly between meetings and you could run after the car? I've got to do Antrim to Newry though - could you run that far?

Er I'll wait in Antrim for you?

Seriously though, haven't you found it even harder exercising and eating properly when you're away from home? If I eat out I have no self control ?

It's a pain in the arse, especially when the expenses account runs to a good Irish fry at the hotel. It's the only time when I'm really self disciplined. I tend to buy fruit and some cereal bars at the Spar for brekkie and likewise most of the Spar/Vivo type places have fresh sandwich counters so I can get something reasonably healthy too. Dinner is more difficult as most restaurants don't give much in the way of healthier choices although a steak and potato combo is ok.

I'd love to go for an early morning run whilst I'm out there but I don't really know the city centre well enough to know whether it's good for that or not.

I'm a sucker for going for a meal thinking "I'll get a salad" and end up with steak, chips and a dessert - so weak willed.

I'm not sure about where to run in Belfast. Along the river maybe down by the ormeau road/ bridge? Or if you have a car, go out a bit to near where I used to live, there's a pathway beside the water out by Whiteabbey (near Jordanstown uni) where there used to be plenty of walkers and runners or on out to Carrickfergus I'm sure would have some nice areas.

Wow, Baron, that's absolutely amazing! Well done you! It just goes to show, there's no need for gastric bands etc, all you need is determination, will power and committment. I'm completely in awe as I sadly have none. [:'(] I need to lose around six stone I think....wonder if I can do the same? Hmmm....

Thanks all. Catwoman - you'll definitely get there and I can absolutely promise the willpower isn't earth shattering. Giving up smoking several years ago was far harder (and in many ways, still is!).

An extremely belated well done Baron (better late than never!)

I'm in awe at your achievements. Bloody well done ?

I, on the other hand am not doing so well. And it's got nothing to do with eating more or losing less, just everything to do with a fecked thyroid [wail]. My meds have gone up again ?

Looking forward to the pics. We'll all remember you know! ?
