are you going to the restaurant? Its great, although I had to tell the barman off for trying to only give me half a glass of champers- £9.50! I was like, fill her up, you can't swizz me, i'm not a tourist!

I don't think we can afford to eat there! My mum is paying for us to stay and we have Pizza Express vouchers stacked up, so can eat for free there. May have to have some champagne though!

I have stayed there! tis lovely, have also done drinks as well.

quite an experience in the old cells really. can you get to see castle unlocked as well Lois? quite interesting to do, even if you just pop on the bus one afternoon to go.

Ooh I'm so jealous , I've stayed at the Manchester and London ones , but this one looks fab. Have cocktail or twenty for me.

The Prezzo is nice there too Lois, you can quite often get vouchers online too. Bar ha ha is quite nice for a drink.

Hyacinth - Bar HaHa has closed down!!! was gutted.

living room is lovely for a drink and you can always go to krispy Kreme for a doughnut or 3!

Oh no! I would never eat there, having had awful experiances at other branches, but thought it was quite nice for a drink. Didn't know you were an Oxford girl. well, I live iN london now but grew up there. I miss it quite a lot, but my parents are still there so go back a lot. Just have to persude MrH to move there!

I have only eaten in the Oxford branch, was quite nice but I had a salad dish. I used to go for the jugs of pimms lol

Ooh I grew up in Abingdon and now live in Witney.

My brother took his girlfriend to stay at the Mal and they loved it.

My sister lives in Abingdon now. My parents are in East Oxford.

Oxford meet sounds like a good idea.

I have booked in Malmaison Oxford for me, H and child for 2 nights next week - it looks fab!

I've not stayed in the prison but I've stayed in other Malmaison hotels and they have always been lovely - I'm sure you'll have a fab time!

3 and a half years.

I moved to Abingdon in Jan 06, opposite Tilsey Park. I was working as assistant manager of a well known card company in Witney until then too. so may not *know of you* lol

I've not stayed there but I did have a meal there and it was lovely. The restaurant was very atmospheric. Really wish we could have stayed in the hotel too.

Thanks DC, we feel nice and settled now - can't believe it's coming up to 2 years since we moved here.

I am thinking of going back to Scotland for some warm weather though...

Lois, if you're going before the end of feb Mal have got a deal on for dinner - two courses, a bottle of wine and coffees for two = £29 all in. It's a special menu so I presume quite restricted menu-wise but still. We're going tonight, yay! (in Leeds, not Oxford)

I think Hotel Du Vin are doing a similar offer too?

I am sure I will find a way anyway?
