I'm looking for a TOG who does contemporary but posed pics....

nat2683, 13 December, 2010 at 19:07 Posted on Planning 0 20

Hi

What I really want in a TOG is someone who can take some lovely posed pics for us at our wedding, as personally for me it is these ones, rather than the reportage shots, that I like to look at again and again.

I have an e.g. of what I mean if Im not making myself clear, this was taken at a friend's wedding in Canada a few years ago, I am one of the bridesmaids and I have a blown up copy of this pic on my shelf and literally everyone who comes round comments on it.

I am getting married in April 2011 in Hertfordshire and my TOG budget is approx £1,000- £1,500 for disk only pics.

If anyone has any recommendations I would be grateful to hear from you. Thanks!

    Hello

I pay to advertise on Hitched as a wedding photographer

I'm not a huge fan of posed images but think the example you have shown makes them a bit more fun. I would be more than happy to send you lots of images like this from weddings i have covered.

Please have a look at my website www.thisisinnovation.co.uk and get back to me if you would like me to send you any images.

    Regards

    Michael

    Hi Nat,

I do a variety of shots, posed and natural. Some of the posed ones are where only you and other half know are posed but the rest of the guests do not.

I have been a HIB for about a year here. Please check out my website for more details. As always, there will be a discount for 'Hitched brides'.

    Regards

    Bob

I think you might be looking for directed shots, where the photographer sets up the shot and asks the group/couple to interact/do something and then captures their natural action/reactions?

I based in London, don't know if that would be based too far for you?

    Regards

    Louisa

Hi Nat. I am a Herts photographer and know most Countywide venues well in addition to many other suppliers in the county. Btw, if you are having a civil ceremony, I have been a long term torch bearer for Herts registrars who have been ahead of the rest of the country in their approach to the photography at weddings. My style is based on relaxed yet crafted images, often creating environments where natural things happen I blend this with naturally occurring elements of the day. My website is undergoing extensive regeneration although it should show some examples of what I do. I am based in Hoddesdon. Happy to have a no caveats talk with you with no selling pressure.

I would quite happily throw my hat in to the ring but i am based in Darlington, (family lives in essex)

Although i would say peter is very good and a closer choice,

For the style you are after its worth asking for the style of images you are after because us photographers tend to follow the latest trends, I was trained in a relaxed traditional but have had to show people contemporary shots as thats what people have wanted.

Thank you for all your posts!

It makes my search much easier to know that I am looking for directed style shots, I was getting a bit overwhelmed before!

I will work my way through all the website recommendations, and then start to get in touch with phoographers.

I'd like to recommend eliza claire https://www.elizaclaire.com/ - she did my treasure the dress pics (i'm on her website...somewhere...!) and takes the most amazing pictures.

she also used to be a hitcher, and has done a few shoots for people on here - cannot recommend her highly enough.

eta - her website says london and kent but she recently moved to milton keynes and travels so i'm sure she'd cover your area.

    You mean like THIS?

If so these are the very popular 'Informal Formals', posed, but at the same time natural and relaxed.

I'm getting married in Hertfordshire and my photographer is also Hertfordshire based and has lots of similar work. I'm also getting a mixture of formal, 'informal formals' and reportage.

You can see his work here - www.photographybyriddell.co.uk

I'm paying about a thousand for his time for 8 hours and includding the CD and a beautiful, handmade storybook album.
