Yep. Mrs Moot! We were having dinner together shortly after she'd got engaged but before the delightful Mr CB asked me to marry him. I was asking about her wedding and she was considering a modern, city type feel to hers which sounded fabulous.

She asked me what I would like to do should we decide to marry. I explained that we'd discussed the prospect a couple of times and new that we'd want a very laid back feel to our day. We envisaged a converted barn with beautiful grounds, an afternoon tea followed by a hog roast later on. We wanted to take our guests from the church to the venue in a red routemaster bus as a nod to our lives being based in London but would want to marry out west as that's where Mr CB is from and spends his weekends playing cricket. It's also where we'll move too eventually.

Fast forward a couple of months to another dinner whereupon she proceeds to tell me there having an afternoon tea in a converted barn (guests transported there by a red bus, naturally) with a hog roast in the evening! Oh, and a barn just down the road from the very area we've chosen!

Quietly ? at the time but all ? now. We've tweaked ours in terms of food but I've realised it doesn't matter in the slightest. Our days will be difference and it's about who we're marrying, not how we dress it up.

I'm clearly a bastion of taste for someone to want to copy my idea entirely and am firmly going with the belief that imitation is a sincere form of flattery!

O that would be lovely!!! It would be nice for us all to see for some ideas of things we might like! and it wouldnt be like stealing either!! lol

I think its a great idea and anywone going to weddings should do a guest report at least, something from another point of view.

CB - cant wait to hear yours from friends, had read your thread a week or so ago when this was posted.... going to be interesting - but with decorum I hope..!

I admit, I was cross, but then I realised it didn't really matter. I prefer what we've decided to do now anyway so ultimately if she hadn't used it, the ideas would have gone to waste.

Besides, my dress is nicer!

where are you gettin gmarried, your stolen plans sound similar to some of ours when we started out. Although now the original weddign i envisaged has changed a fair bit

She gets married this week so my curiosity will be satisfied soon. I can see how people have similar tastes and ideas and I wouldn't have been cross had she said something at the time about really liking the idea and wanting to incorporate it!

I'm with you on that I am happy to share ideas with anyone if they help, after all all weddings have similar elemnts but at leas have the decency to say I really like that idea would you mind if I borrowed it!
