Only this time, it's not for me.
I've been on Hitched since 2004, since then i've had 2 failed engagements, and I finally got married last Halloween. (3rd time unlucky)
Now, after over 20 years of being divorced, my Mum and Dad are getting married again. For some reason, they thought i'd be great at planning their wedding ? It's very weird, but lovely to have my parents back together.
I thought my Mum would want me to just offer advice, but no, she's left it all up to me. SO exciting. I wasn't overly interested in planning my own wedding (just wanted a quick register office do, no fuss, no reception), but I am really excited about planning my parents wedding.
They're getting married 18th May next year. So far, we have my Mums dress. I saw it on a girly shopping trip with my Mum, we weren't even on the lookout for a dress. As it's her 3rd wedding, she didn't want a traditional dress (was so relieved, if any of you have seen my wedding pics, you'd know I don't "do" traditional), she thought it was perfect, and snapped it up.
here it is. She's gone from a size 24 to a 12, and she looks stunning in it. Her happiness and confidence really shows. (wow, that's majorly fluffy for me)
Invites have been ordered, i'm adding black stick on diamante gems to give them something "extra", and BM dresses have been decided on. The white for the BMs, and the black for CBM (which is me ?)
My Mum also wants me to make their cake, and her bouquet. I've decided to make fabric flower and button bouquets, which i've started
My ex fiance is a photographer, and he's offered to do the photos for free. Luckily, we still get on really well, and my eldest son (who is giving my Mum away) will be chuffed to have his Dad there, i'm sure.
They've opted for a register office ceremony, and a reception at a local hall as it's close to all of our family and friends. As I know the venue well, it'll be easy to work out how to decorate it, which helps a lot.
And just as i was about to post, the invites turned up... ?
