I'm so happy after our taster session! :)

MrsParsons2b, 29 March, 2011 at 17:31 Posted on Planning 0 2

Last night we had our taster session and visited the venue again and decided on our menu. I'm so glad we're doing everything we want the way we want it.

...Why have things at YOUR wedding that YOU dont particularly like!? LOL! Just to keep tradition?

Well... we have decided for our welcome drink we're having small flutes of Cornish Rattler Cider - the best cornish cider you can get! Alongside non-alcoholic fruitjuice. Served with lots of cornish strawberries and pots of dipping chocolate and sugar - yum!

main course: posh fish and chips - tasted last night - delicious!

dessert: citrus tart

We're skipping starters Smiley smile

After dinner we're having an icecream bicycle Smiley smile

Then for the evening buffet we're having cornish pasties and then scones with jam and cream!
Smiley smile HURRAY! Smiley smile Smiley smile Smiley smile

What are you having? xx

That sounds blooming gorgeous!! I'd be very happy with that!

We have a similar approach -

Crostini with 3 or 4 different toppings as canapes

followed by BBQ from a selection of:

    Beef or lamb burgers

    Marianaded chicken skewers

    Roasted med. vegetables

    New potato salad

    Assorted crusty rolls and butter

(plus halloumi and pepper skewers for the vegetarians)

then dessert is a choice of cake & berries or local ice cream - or both!

In the evening we'll have a selection of cheeses and crackers (and maybe some pate) with chutney and grapes etc plus more cake.

    Mmmm hungry now!

Mmmm sounds awesome! LOVE the idea of scones and pasties.

Our menu is a right old mish-mash of things me and him love! But it was fairly cheap compared to other caterers, ours is charging us £27 per head for welcome canapes, soup starter with an option of something like breaded Camembert or possibly melon and fruit. Then gammon and potatoes dauphionoise with various veg. Dessert was so hard to decide that in the end our caterer said she would do us a trio of mini desserts so we didn't have to choose! This is followed by tea coffee and biscuits. Then for the evening for £5 per head as many BBQed sausages and burgers as our guests can eat.... I think it is far too much food but OH said one of the best things about weddings was the chance to really indulge everyone and enjoy lots of lovely food and he would rather spend money to make sure there was plenty rather than not have enough.
