In a bit of a pickle! *flashes*

Charliebob, 31 January, 2016 at 10:31 Posted on Planning 0 8

So, I get married in May and my dress still hasn't come in yet. The shop said Jan but now they are saying it wont be in till Mid Feb/March. I'm cool with that but the only problem is.. I haven't seen it yet. Yes call me stupid but I've never seen my dress in person. Problem is I am a larger woman with a very bottom heavy shape, every shop I went to they didn't have any dresses in in my size, I'm only a 16-18! I managed to try on several different types to give me an idea of what style would fit me, but I was adamant I needed sleeves. So I opted for a similar style I had tried on just with sleeves, but they didn't have it in the shop so I haven't seen it yet. Risky gamble, but hoping it pays off.

Only problem is, I need to start getting accessories. I'm a picky so and so and like what I like, most of the items I like are from Etsy and will be coming from abroad so will need to order them ASAP so they get here within the time span needed. But what if these accessories don't match my dress or look stupid. Need help deciding on my accessories, will give you the low down with a few flashes, so here goes:

This is my dress on a curvier woman, it is very plain lace detailing with chiffon bottom.

I am having my hair like so, as I have very long hair:

I don't plan on having a tiara or headband or anything. Jewellery wise I was thinking of this:

I then wanted to add some major bling and have as my main hair piece a veil like so:

Is it too much bling? My dress is plain remember so wanted a big of snazziness.

Last but not least shoes:

I already have these but I am in talks with someone to add Swarovski crystals to the front strap of the shoe. So you can see it when I am walking.

And then my toes and nails this colour, I'm not a Claries type of person but this nail varnish is so amazing, have it in every colour!

And makeup wise just not sparkliness just a browny colour as I have all dark brown features.

So whaddya think? Will it go :/ Sorry for the waffling and thanks for your help in advance/and for reading.

HI I'm also a similar size in normal clothes to you. I didn't get to try my dress in in a size that fit. Mine didn't fasten up in the shop. But I ordered in the size I needed (20) when it came in in November I fit perfectly and looked better than I remembered. I think the jewellery blind will look good. Not sure how the veil will go... maybe one with a little less? Because of the neckline I'd be looking for something to go round my neck.

I tried jewellery in debengams with a plain t shirt with a similar style neck. I also didn't want to wear anything on my hair in fact I had no idea how much hair I would have. In the end I bought necklace earrings and bracelet and decided on the day. I didn't wear the bracelet as it happens but figured I could add as much or as little as I wanted. Maybe that's the way to go. Buy a whole set and decide which pieces once your dress is in. Love the pieces you have chosen.

I like the blingy veil, very cool never seen one like that before ?

but I personally wouldn't wear it with the earrings... I have those earrings and ive yet to find something they go with, they look pretty but very hard to pair up with stuff as they are too obviously blingy on their own so dont match and draw focus but when paired with other bling it quickly becomes too much ☹️

Can you have too much bling?! I especially love the earrings and veil.

I it'll look lush - especially as your dress is so simple and elegant! x

Gorgeous, I think it will look great!! I would go for the Swarovski on shoes and go natural/French manicure style or clear/natural peachy pink with your nails. Or even plain shoes would look nice - either natural looking nails or just fingernails and sparkly toes.

Beautiful dress, I wouldn't worry too much that you haven't seen it yet or about the slight delay.

I would say that as long as you get everything the same shade of white, you'll be fine. Make sure you confirm what shade the dress is with the shop.

Where are the shoes from? I looooove them Smiley smile

I think the a accessories will go great, I don't think the earrings will be too much especially as you have your hair down. Hope all goes well with the dress, it looks lovely.
