I had a mini melt down today. The dress is not too important to me, but I would like one in a particular style (shortish, Marylin style) and I really can't afford more than the £150-200 mark. I found a great dress I loved and thought I had it sorted. It was the Cecily Ivory one on BHS. I didn't buy it because I'm a beefy girl and was waiting to lose some weight as I'm dropping it pretty quickly at the moment. I think I'll loose at least another stone before the wedding on August 12th, so was waiting until the beginning of July to order the dress.
WELL today I went for my daily lust over it and it was gone from the website! Out of season! Frantic panic, rang BHS and my local store, no, sorry, all vanished off the face of the earth and no, crying will not help you.
Got onto ebay and found a perfect dress instead for a very good price; www.honeyboutique.co.uk, beautiful Marylin dress in 50's style, just want I wanted. But it takes 10 - 12 weeks! I've emailed them asking if it would be ready by my wedding date as I'm not having a custom size made, but if it isn't perfect and I want to return it and find another dress I'll have virtually no time to find and receive a new one. I have a 'back up' dress on the BHS website but I don't really like it much and it too may be gone by the time the time comes!
Any advice MUCH appreciated. I'd love your suggestions of similar sites like BHS where I could browse off the peg dresses; checked MS, BHS, House of Fraser, and Debenams.
