In preparation for your big day...

tahdah, 26 March, 2009 at 08:52 Posted on Planning 0 23

What are you doing?

Currently I'm;

Going to Curves fitness 3x a week, I don't need to loose many pounds just wanna tone up - and through this I've taken on a healthy eating plan (although last night I was told I'm not eating enough!!)
Taking sea kelp supplements for my hair, skin & nails
Going for regular manicures - I've finally stopped biting my nails after 30 years!

I am doing Weight Watchers, but that's not just for the wedding, I was trying to lose weight before we got engaged, have always been up and down with my weight unfortunately!

Am also exercising, doing a lot of walking and am going swimming twice a week to try and tone up too.

Oooh - where do you get sea kelp from and are you finding that it works? I have been looking for it for about a month now, have been to Holland & Barratt, Boots, Superdrug and local pharmacies but no luck! Currently my hair is a couple of inches below shoulder length but it used to fall just below my b❤️❤️bs, so I want it to get back there! Guessing 16 months might not be long enough though?

I am on a quite a strick diet to get into my dress, getting much closer to fitting into it now week by week. I joined a gym called easy exercise which I go to 6 times a week for half an hour I have lost 9 1/2 inches since joining. I am continuing with my skin regime every morning, but need to remember to do it a night slap hands. I am also going on my cross trainer at home for about 15 minutes every few days, also walking the dog. Interested in the sea kelp tablets though.

I am just going to the gym 4 times a week to try and tone up and lose a few pound. Also, trying to eat better not doing WW or anything just trying to cut out crap and booze.

Go on the sunbed 3 times a week to try and get a little colour.

And this week I have been trying to sleep more to try and get rid of the bags under my eyes.

I bought my sea kelp from Holland & Barratt for £2.99 for 250, you might just have to ask at the counter as I don't think I could ever find anything in there if I didn't. I expect that other little independent stores would also do it. I took them before my 1st wedding and it was quite successful! (it's the ONLY thing I'm doing that's the same ?)

3 times a week...?...a bit of fake tan and that'll do me, I wouldn't want to damage my skin.

Great, thanks Tahdah! I'd seen some other tablets for skin, hair and nails around but they were all pretty expensive and didn't mention sea kelp anywhere on the box so I left it. £2.99 for 250 is really good though, will definitely pop into Holland & Barratt and get some!

Well, I have bought a boat load of skincare products, including a micro-dermabrasion kit which I have to say is working a treat!

I have also dusted all my fitness stuff off from under the bed - its now sitting in the living room instead!

I have test driven a San Tropez spray tan, but am not sure, and have booked an optician apointment to see about those month long lasting contact lenses.

    Few!

I'm not really doing anything that much different to be honest. I'm going to the gym at least twice a week. I do that anyway, but it is more of a motivator!

I'm on a bit of a diet but it's not really a case of losing much weight - I'm just trying not to gain any!

Trying to drink less - but that's more of a health/finance choice than for the wedding.

The one thing I am doing especially is getting my hair cut once every six weeks so it stays healthy although after the insane 80s do I ended up with last time I went - maybe I shouldn't bother!

Oh and I've bought some elemis skincare and am doing that morning and night!

    But that's about it really!

I have given up smoking 2 weeks and 1 day today!

I started to swim but have hurt my knee so am having a week off.

I have had my hair cut and dyed. This might not sound like a big thing, but i hadnt had it professionally dyed since 2000, or cut by a hairdresser for about 5 years.

I ma trying to moisturise more.

The week of the wedding though i am gonna treat myself to facial, manicure, bikini wax, spray tan, eyebrow shape (that will be amazing, i cant ever be arsed to pluck!)

I'm also not doing anything different. Have started a spinning class at the gym but thats only becasue I have a foot injury and can't do as much running as usual. Just want to keep up the cardio work so I can get back into my marathon training after the wedding rather than to loose weight or anything.

Should try and get more sleep too but thats difficult at the moment as I have so much going on workwise as well as wedding wise.

I will have a make up artist do my make up and may get some false eye lashes to give mine a bit of a boost - thats different for me cos I don't wear much make up.

ok now I'm rambling and thing I have gone a bot off topic so time to stop.

I maybe wrong (and please put me right) but I think you skin can sometimes react after a facial e.g. pimple attack so I'm not sure that I'd have it so close to the wedding. Have you had one before?

I have found myself a bit pimply during the micro-demabrasion I'm doing, it brings out all the impurities, especially on my chin area.

You're right, though it can really depend on the type of facial. Anything deep cleansing makes it more likely that you'll get a few spots. However, something healing like a light therapy facial wouldn't have this affect.

Well, my wedding isn't for quite some time but I'm trying really hard to start exercising to tone up & eating healthier. These aren't really wedding specific, but it's definately motivation. Also planning on getting some broken veins treated on my nose & legs ?

I'm following a calorie controlled diet via WLR, am walking to and from work and have bought a mini stepper to do in front of the box of an evening....

Saw my face in a mirror with harsh lighting the other day and have now gone out and bought most of the Regenerist range in an effort to have some sort of beauty regime ... I've always been bad and for the majority of my adult life I go to sleep in my make up! Whoopsy!! The under eye serum seems to be working a treat!

I go to curves as well, been going 5 times a week lately. Do you do curves smart or not? I also follow a calorie controlled diet. Only want to lose another 2 stone by my first dress fitting.

Going to start having body scrubs so that my arms, back and chest look their best in my dress.

I've been doing it since January, it really does challenge you some days. I really love the fact it's only 30 mins!! Just on my way there now.

I went to the Curves in Kingston last summer and really liked it as it was only 30 mins long and could go every day.... it's now closed down and the Twickers one is too far to go and I know I won't keep up going as it'll be a hassle... ☹️

The machines have been zupped up debby, with electric machines. You plug in your Smart USB thingy and it records all your moves, pulse, cals etc etc etc etc and makes you work harder....

you then plus your doodaa in the computer and it takes all the info and sticks it in to your profile. I never bothered.

Jeez, thats sounds like extra hard work to me! It was bad enough having the staff shouting at you to work harder without them having the data to prove it to you!
