Infamous SIL2B wedding plans continue....

Viva Suzi, 2 June, 2009 at 16:27 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 38

Well the Save the Date card for the big bash arrived today....I so wish I had a way of showing it to you because it is a classic. It is shaped like a pumpkin carriage from Cinderella and has a glitter-covered shoe shape dangling from the top! Yes, she has decided on a fairy tale themed wedding....

Plus is it not a bit strange that she has included details of the gift list (at Harrods!) - don't you usually put that in the invitation? I can't access the gift list online so no idea what is on it at the moment but I'm thinking nothing is going to be within the budget of most guests.

Oh and she has picked a date which she knew was really difficult for us to make it back to the UK but I just know she is going to stamp her feet when we have to tell her that it is likely that only H will be able to make it....at least I'm going to potentially get out of going ?

Oh please take a picture ?

And are you sure you can't go just to report back on the day? It sounds like it'll be a classic.

Did she get St Pauls in the end?

Oh lordy fairy tale themed? why not dress up like little bow peep for the event?

If you can't go you can't go, at least you can give her a lot of notice that you won't attend, although thinking about that it's not really a positive is it?

If the save the date card is like this....what on earth is the wedding going to be like.

In fact..it must be your duty to attend just so you can get snaps of the marvellous fairy tale dream!!

I'm a dullard when it comes to IT but will try tonight to sort out a picture if I can work out how to take one with my phone - problem is that it does have the name, venue etc on the front and I don't really think I should put that on a internet forum.

She hasn't gone for St Pauls.....she claims she has opted for a more intimate venue so that she can focus on making the rest of the wedding "special"...

I actually think BIL put his foot down once he started to realise the price of wedding venues - he did admit that he thought it would cost less than £5k for the whole wedding but that SIL2B has rather ignored that limit!

She is still insisting on instructing all female guests which outfit they should wear...she is mad!

I've only lurked on your previous threads - your SIL is a loon, and obviously oblivious to the fact that other people have lives outside of her wedding.

    please post a pic!!

Whaddya mean you're not going? We NEEEEDD you to go. Can your H take a Hitcher along instead? Honestly VS you'd really think your devotion to all of us here would take priority, never mind having to stay home looking after your farm and your 3 tiny children ?

Anyway we need pics now - please! And as for the gift list then - yes it is a bit early but it's maybe a hint to everyone "right you lot of cheapstakes and sodding poor people, you'd better get saving" ?

She is a little self-obsessed so wants a wedding that will be like no other and for her this means spending a lot of money. She has strange ideas about everything and regards herself as a bit of a celebrity/fashion icon - I admit she is very good looking and dresses well but is lacking a little in brains and personality, shall we say!

She did initially send out invitations requesting that guests fly to Australia for the wedding (despite the fact that she has never been and has no connection with the country). I came on hitched to ask advice on whether travelling with small children to Oz for a short period was at all possible - we felt we had to go as she had already put that H will be the best man without even asking.

However, her parents etc pointed out that they would not be able to go and she got stroppy that no-one would be coming to the wedding event of the decade so now she has revised her plans.

    I've followed your threads too,

I dont mind looking at the wedding list!

I had a pink castle cake and a big pink frock so I guess I am in the same league as your SIl. Didnt get wed in St Pauls and my wedding didnt cost that much! ?

Ahh but did you have your dress designed to match a drawing you did when you were 11 - only then can you be in the same league as SIL2B!

<snort> fairy tale themed indeed ?

All the fairy tales I can think of are about death, slavery, torture and all manner of other unpleasantness.

Will she make you all spin endlessly as in Rumplestiltskin?

Will she lock you in a tower like Rapunzel?

Will she turn your fins to feet like the Little Mermaid? (the cruel non-Disney version where she is mute & every step she takes for the rest of her life is like walking on knives. Then she dies).

What on earth makes people think "fairy tales" are romantic? <baffled> Is it just that Cinderella marries the prince?

We must have a report, Suzi, she's so wonderfully, entertainingly barking ?

Another one dying to see a photo of the Save The Date! And I'd love to know what she's selected on her wedding list too - particularly how much she thinks people will be happy to spend on her. We should start a sweepstake for most expensive item. And will the gifts continue the fairy tale theme?!

Come on VS we NEED to see a picture - just imaginig it has made my afternoon (ok so I'm sad)

And you HAVE to go to the wedding or send a Hitcher in your place. There is a long history of people going that extra bit for this site - did you enjoy the Fray Bentos pie report, did you enjoy people norking household items, did you enjoy Chinese Elvis ? Now is your moment

While she is clearly nuts, I think a fairy tale themed wedding is sweet - it is obviously something she has always dreamed of.

I think she got the idea from Katie Price marrying Peter Andre rather than a lifelong dream...I think she wanted a 1920s in Cannes theme for the Oz wedding.

Maybe she is going to dress everyone as characters from a fairytale. If you're lucky you maybe dressed as the fairy godmother....or maybe an ugly sister. ?

Does she know cannes is a real place? and why would you go to Oz to do that when you can do it in Cannes? surely more people would have thought about going there!

Even weirder is that she is French so yes Cannes would have been ideal but then all her family/friends have already been to Cannes......she is nutty than a very nutty thing. ?

Haha! Any dress I designed when I was eleven would have been heavily influenced by the Flower Fairies ?
