Inhaling bleach fumes :-(

mrs.allym, 29 September, 2008 at 14:48 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

Cleaned the bathroom in the past hour. The bathroom is in the middle of the house therefore has no window, just a fan that comes on when the light goes on. Used the new Grot Buster on the tiles and various other cleaners on the bath/sink etc. Now feel absolutely sickly. Feel like I can taste the bleach and it's in my nostrils! Think because I was in a confined space with no windows and the door closed that I've not realised how strong the fumes were. I feel sickly, light headed and I can almost taste bleach?

Does the bottle say not to use in a confined / poorly ventillated space ?

Go and get some fresh air ! Long-term exposure to bleach fumes can cause irreperable damage to your lungs.

If you have used bleach plus other cleaners it is possibly chlorine gas you have inhaled.

Stand outside for some fresh air and ventilate the room as best you can - chlorine can be very nasty.

Just read the bottle (althought would have been a wise move to have read it before I used it!!), it says not to mix with other cleaning products as it can release dangerous gases, cholorine. Off for some fresh air in the back garden.
