Inspiration please!

Rachyb, 20 April, 2009 at 19:47 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hello ladies

can someone give me some inspiration please, We are planning our wedding in a lovely boutique hotel next year. So far I have picked my dress that fits perfectly with the venue! I am wanting a very glam, vintage feel to the day and am thinking dusky pink for the BMs and flowers.

We are having a roof terrace BBQ and am stuck for ideas for the tables. I want something a little different and hope someone can inspire me!

Thanks in advance!!

    Hydrangeas in pots?

Teacups filled with peonies and roses?

    Jugs filled with flowers?

Lots of vintage bottles with flowers in?

Many different vases on each table with the same flower in?

    Birdcages with flowers inside?

    Another images.......

    Hi Rachy,

Thats a very similar theme to mine. We're having a vintage theme and dusky pink for the BM's although not picked the dresses yet.

I'm not going to be much help as I haven't done anything other than pick my theme! I'm thinking of just having some candles on our tables (not sure which type!). Did you see Ross and Emily's wedding on friends?! That sort of effect!

    Hi ya

This is exactly the same theme that I have for a client's wedding in August

The BM's live in different countries, so we have given them the colours and swatches of fabric to match their dresses too and then to buy them. There are 8 BM's and they are in a mix of pale pinks/blush , dusky pink and ivory/creams.

For the centre peices we are having a mix of silver or cyrstal candelabras draped in pearls and flowers and then on the others, these cake stands, filled with vintage flowers such as David Austin roses and peonies with garlands of pearls threaded through and around the base.

The idea is to get the look like this

https://www.idyllicdays.com/index2.php?v=v1 go to information then style

Then tealights using vintage votives like the below

Then we are also going to have vintage teacups that we are hiring and I'm going to put personalised seed envelopes into the teacups as a favour. Then each table will be named after a flower and that flower will be tied to the back of the chair a bit like this but not so fussy.

I love the vintage theme, the dusky pink works well with it too.

I think they're really pretty although I'd like to see the front properly.

Your bridesmaids would have to be superslim to pull the look off though. Mine are all slim but curvy, don't think it'd look as good!

The front is lovely, I saw them in the shop where I'm getting my dress. They are so pretty. Going to take my BMs to try soon

Crash! Rachyb I was . this close to getting papillon! Cost of alterations for a real shortie like me meant that it would have exceeded my budget so have gone for something else. But just wanted to say GREAT choice! Eta what happened to my post?!?

    Aaah thanks ladies!

The dress wasn't what I expected to go for at all- so that is reassuring.

    Show me yours!
