Cracklin Rosie

Inspire me please. Gift related

Cracklin Rosie, 6 November, 2008 at 17:11 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I need a little inspiration. In about an hour I'm heading out with my friends and tonight the plan is to pick who we're all getting for our Secret Santa so that everyone has plenty of time for shopping etc.

On our little bit of paper that goes into the bag we usually write either a specific thing that we want or what kind of thing we would like. The problem is I haven' a clue what to put on my little bit of paper so I was wondered if anyone had any inspiration for me.

The cost is approx £20.00

Other things I usually like are bags, makeup, accessories, books.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hmmm, I am watching this with interest as my Mum is shopping for my Christmas present this weekend and she NEVER spends more than £20.

Last year I got the Nigella Express book, the year before Kim and Aggies. I reckon:

I am SO not the perfect housewife, but I find these books weirdly gripping.

    or

(would love advice from Hitchers on which is best)

    Hmmm.

Do you like cooking? i.e. something from Lakeland? Or perhaps something from The Pier?

I'm liking the idea of the perfect housewife book as I need all the help I can get, I have the best of intentions when it comes to the house but I just seem to leave a mess behind wherever I go!!

I can't stand it when members of our team want to do a list for 'secret' santa gifts. Particularly as ours are under £8. Personally, I like secret santa gifts to be comedic. Call me ungrateful but I really don't want a Marks and Spencer bath set with a candle.

I used to hate Secret Santa at my old jonfor that reason, but where I work now all the team are quite young, and everyone tends to try to outdo each other by buying the most hideously embarrassing gifts, so it's really fun.

Cracklin Rosie - could you suggest any nice make-up/skincare/hair products you wouldn't normally buy for yourself?

In work we do a secret santa that is embarassing presents and a bit of fun.

With my friends we used to all buy for each other then quite a few of them had kids so we were buying for them too and it was all getting a bit much which is why we started the secret santa thing.

I always quite fancy mac makeup but never really get round to getting some for myself, will I get anything from them for under £20?

I also agree secret Santa should be fun - no-one really wants anything you can buy for a tenner or whatever. The last time we did it at work a load of people just bought a gift voucher - what's the point of that?
