Hi everyone

I have been engaged now for a few weeks, and have been lurking on this site since then - such great ideas and advice, and v funny. Inspired by a white izzy I thought I would introduce myself too. My name is Claire and I hope to get married to my lovely H2B this year, hopefully at the begining of October. Which to me sounds like aaaages to wait, but people I tell seem a bit surprised so I am not sure what I am letting myself in for!

Anyway looking forward to sharing in others experiences through hitched - is making me even more excited, which I didn't think was possible!

welcome to the forum properly now you've posted.

I am ending my engagement wedding journey my getting married in just over 3 weeks. only been engaged since august and we set the date in december... so you have plenty of time for yours in october.

Just get the big things booked first, venue, church, photographer & caterer.

Then do all the little bits bit by bit each week, then its all done. We have done ours on £5k and lots of help from friends and family. get everyone involved in little jobs and it'll all be done before you know it!

Hello and welcome to Hitched! It's definitely possible to plan a lovely wedding by then and we'll help along the way. If you search the forum for past posts on topics, you'll fine that we pretty much go through the same experiences and feelings!

Welcome to Hitched. I'm another October bride. Believe me October isn't that far away!!

I'd advise you to get your venue and photographer organised and then your dress. I ordered mine in January and it should be arriving the end of this month to start getting it fitted.

Most venues need final lists for catering a month in advance, so you need to get thinking about your invites asap. Mine are going out in June for final RSVP date of August.
