Insurance

Mrswilltobe17, 21 February, 2016 at 07:20 Posted on Planning 0 2

I am very conscious that I'm paying deposits to different suppliers and in my line of work I understand how many businesses go bust on a daily basis so I'm now sorting wedding insurance. John Lewis seem to do a really good one - can anyone recommend?

We went with Debenhams in the end, the price was almost identical to John Lewis but we received a free gift voucher to spend in store. I would say absolutely buy wedding insurance, compared to what you spend on the day, it's a minimal cost and hopefully you won't need it but if you do you'll be glad you got it!

Just make sure that whatever policy you go for covers deposits already paid before taking out the policy and check out the individual breakdown of what you are covered for. It may say £20,000 total cover but you are limited on how much you can claim on individual aspects of the wedding e.g. you may only be able to claim £5000 on the venue, £3000 on food etc.

First time around I used a company called Ecclesiastical. Unfortunately, I had cause to make a claim and they were brilliant.

We are going with Debenhams as you get the gift card, plus cashback through the cashback site we use! Smiley smile
