Internet wedding rings - help needed!

lizzie1982, 22 March, 2011 at 16:57 Posted on Planning 0 19

Has anyone bought their wedding rings online? I've started having a look online in a quest to get more for my money but I'm a bit worried about the quality of what I might get! Has anyone used smooch? They have some lovely diamond wedding rings on their website but I wondered what the clarity / colour of diamond is like? I have a beautiful ER from Boodles with an amzing 1 carot diamond so really want something high quality to match it but probably can't afford another in the boodles price range on top of everything else wedding related!

Smooch have a rep who posts here, and all the hitchers who've gone through her have had a great experience. I think her name is Laura.

Ah, excellent, thank you. The rings I've seen on their website look fab! Also, think someone posted a few days ago about if they had a spare £1670..that one was just what I want!

    Hi Lizzie,

All of our diamonds are very high quality. The very minimum is VS1/VS2 clarity, and colour G/H.

They are all also conflict-free and comply with the Kimberley Process of course!

If you'd like any more information, please let me know...

    Would you care to elaborate?

Our rings arrived last week from Smooch and we absolutley LOVE them. They are beautiful and the process was so smooth.

All companies have people somewhere along the line who arent happy, but judging by the amount of ladies on here who have used smooch I would say that the vast majority have had a great experience with them. I'd deff suggest you give it a shot having an appointment with them, they're not pushy in any way with their sales technique.

Good luck finding what you're after!!

As i stated in my thread it wasnt myself who wasnt happy with smooch it was my cousin, in the end she went with someone else. Not to sure why, i looked and also saw smooch at a few wedding fair's and found that they were competivly priced but the jeweller i ended up using was alot cheaper and we were over the moon with our rings. Being a wedding planner i am perfectionist and everything has to be perfect. I do everything apart jewellery and our rings were very important to us, the customer service that we recieved from George the jeweller matched our rings he was amazing.

I got married recently and we got our wedding rings from a company called Wedding Rings Direct http://www.weddingrings-direct.com

We were really happy with the rings and the service we got from them which was much better than I thought it would be for an online company.

At first I wasn't sure about ordering online but they have this really handy sample service where you can try out the ring to get the size and profile etc right. I had a couple of questions before ordering which I received instant responses on so it was a good experience. They have so much choice on their site and also lots of information that helps you work out what you're looking for in case you don't know what you're looking for straight away.

Yes! I got mine from Alba Rose. I knew exactly what I wanted (18K yellow gold very thin plain band) and this is exactly what I got! Very good price, lovely ring, arrived in lovely packaging and is perfect!

    Would highly recommend them.

OH got his from an american etsy seller. He's gone for a brushed silver wide banned and on the inside is bright blue enamel looking - tis lovely! He ordered the wrong size (complete div) but they have been very helpful at rectifying this!

Not sure if this is helpful but we're looking at using the perfect ring company. They're based in Bournemouth but work on the same principle as smooch I think. They've got a page on Facebook if that's any use.

The jewellery quarter is also really good for reasonable rings. H2b visited diamond heaven and to look at diamonds etc and then purchased through their website. They're really helpful; my ring had to be resized and it was returned to me within two days.

We ordered my ring through etsy. I've ordered quite a lot of jewellery from it in the past, including custom work, and been delighted with all of it. It hasn't arrived yet (and won't for a while, as we're not marrying until December; the silversmith has promised arrival by mid-October so if I'm not totally satisfied there's time to make another) but I have a ring by the same seller that my parents comissioned for my 23rd birthday, and know she does absolutely beautiful work.

Her name is tinahdee, if you'd like to look at her work.
