Interview notes- can you please help me decipher this?

OK so been for an interview today for an AMAZING role, Personnel Admin within a big pharmaceutical company in town, I thought it went reasonably well, but interviewer then says at one point that she is "concerned" that I've too many expectations of the role.. In a nutshell, I said I'd be looking for a position where I can progress etc, and she basically said that that isn't what the role can offer right now, so I should keep it in mind..

Do you think that's her way of kind of saying "Back off, biaatch!" or am I over-analysing again? I'm so out of touch with interview-speak..

    I would suggest that they are looking to recruit to that particular role for a reasonable amount of time, and you possibly came across as though you saw it as a foot in the door rather than a role you want to fulfil for any length of time before moving onwards and upwards?

    It might still be OK, it's easily done when you're excited about a role, I've done it myself. Fingers crossed you get a good outcome - she may just have been trying to make sure you have reasonable expectations

    Yeah, true..

    I guess the trouble is, that in this day and age, with them being such a good company to work for (apparently) they can have the pick of the litter, you know?

    Thanks though, will find out Thursday if I'm eligible for 2nds.. fingers crossed!! ? xxx

    Mrs Smith - fingers crossed for you. You may be expecting the worst. You never know. I am actually full of positive vibes and bouncing them across to you?

    Recently had an interview. Came out and thought, couple of funny comments indicating that I really wasn't suited to the job and therefore I came to the conclusion that I would probably not get it. Had a call this afternoon to ask me to go back to see them asap for a second interview and "the job description isn't quite the one you responded to as its been changed to take into account your experience"...

    So you never know!!!

    Oooh that's awesome!! Thanks for the positive vibes ? Trouble is, my self-esteem has been hit so hard by my current role that I guess I may come across slightly desperate/too eager at times, but I thought that that company would've been awesome to work for! I *think* I asked a pretty good few questions in there as well, but you can never know, can you?

    So, until Thursday, we wait... GAH!
