ME!

Hello. I'm new.

I have been engaged for a looong time and we only set a date 2 weeks ago.

I was never that fussed about the wedding, I haven't dreamed all my life of a big one, but since setting the date (end of July) I have become all excited.

You should know I am the least creative person ever and will need guidance. Lots of guidance.

Small budget, reception in my dad's (pretty sizeable) back garden.

A 3year old autistic son in tow. He will be a serious hazard on the big day.

?

I think you click on edit at the very top of the screen and you can upload it on the avatar tab.

Welcome, btw! I'm new, too. I was never into weddings either, but then I got engaged, and I'm addicted to this forum now! Will your son be a page boy? I know it must be difficult with his autism, though. Can't wait to hear about your plans.

I've worked out how to do it now. I'll do it when I am on the other computer and have photos saved.

He will probably take the rings down the aisle, depending on how cooperative he becomes between now and then. It would be nice for him to play a role.

I can imagine his role being running up to me during the ceremony, tugging on my dress and asking for a bowl of weetabix.

Congratulations. I thing having your reception in your dad's garden is a great idea, especially for your son. It is a place he is familar with and he can help to decorate with bunting or balloons or what ever you like. It might also be an idea to help him creat a little private space for him in the garden (a pop up tent, with some favorite items) so that he can have somewhere away from the noise for a while. how you enjoy yourself.

My autistic foster son will be at my wedding. He is going to lead the bridal procession, with a banner that says 'here comes the bride'. Well thats the theory anyway... will have to see how it goes on the day!!!

Hello and welcome, I too have an autistic son with learning difficulties who is now 18. I think it's the unpredictability of the behaviour that adds the extra stress! BTW is he mad for weetabix, mine has been Gluten free since he was 4 as weetabix used to make him cry for an hour after as a toddler
