introducing a new kitten to my cat

K_Jackson_In_Waiting, 2 September, 2009 at 21:56 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

I'm thinking of getting another kitten before my cat is too old as i want them to get used to each other and i think it'll be easier whilst my cat is younger. How should i go about introducing the new kitten to my cat? When i introduced the cat to my rabbit, i had them kept in separate rooms unless i was there and introduced them slowly that way. Does anyone have any advice on the best ways to go about it?

Thanks =)

    Sorry, i got it whilst i was driving and must have forgotten. everything is fine. Twix got spayed the other day but had to take her back today cos she is allergic to the stitching material so now has staples bless her. loving my new job as well.

    yeh we're thinking of getting another one but we're not sure when. its been put on hold temporarily but hoping to get one around new years time, depends what happens. thats the problem with working in a vets and seeing kittens all day lol

    I had two little kittens a few months ago, and I already had a 1 year old cat. I never kept them in seperate rooms I just let them do their own thing. My older cat took them straight away, infact I think she thought she was their mom!! Within 1/2 an hour they were all snuggled up in bed together sleeping. The older cat did get a bit protective over them tho, and she did sometimes get a bit carried away when she was playing with them, but they were fine after a few days.
