Invitation guest names

MrsM*LZ, 10 April, 2013 at 22:21 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi all,

I'm writing out my invites tonight (yay!) but they are written as if from my parents - how do I address their parents?

Mr & Mrs Chambers request the pleasure of 'Dad' (my grandad) or Mr Chambers?

Thanks :-) x

When I did the invites for my parents I still put Mr and Mrs so and so. It would have felt too informal for my invites to put Mum and Dad.

    Hi,

Most people tend to go formal and would put Mr Chambers, some would even include the first name. It comes down to what you prefer and how formal your family are.

I just put first names for everyone.

Mum wasn't too impressed (they come from them) and thinks I should have put 'Auntie' etc where relevant to her. Oops.

I did not write names onto the invitations themselves but put Mr & Mrs [first of name of Mr] [surname of couple] on the envelopes.
