Invitation question..

Twickers, 2 December, 2010 at 20:52 Posted on Planning 0 6

Evening everyone,

Just a question for all of you that have sent your invitations already (or are just cleverer than me!).... We have nearly finished putting our pocketfolds together, just need to write the names of the guests on them....But I don't know how to do that! For example - my grandparents - do we put thier names? or do I put Nanny & Grandad??? Sounds silly but has really stumped us!

Thanks!

PS. Hope the snow isn't too bad for you all - we have over 12 inches but I can walk to work - so no snow days for me!

We have written 'gran' 'nanna' 'uncle' 'aunt' on the inside, but addressed them all formally on the envelopes "Mr & Mrs such and such"

Snow is continuing in the North East - but like you I can walk to work and the most frequent bus in the world runs past my flat...it's still running. NO EXCUSES :-(

I have named all the invitations with their proper names and then everything else will be how we know them. As the invites are coming form 2 people (whether you and your OH or your parents) I don't see how you can put Nanny and Grandad as they are only that to 1 person if that makes sense.

We're having quite a formal wedding so it's all Mr and Mrs X with first names on the inside. But if you feel more comfortable doing, granny, grandpa do that! Its your wedding your way.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

We are addressing them formally on the envelope - Mr & Mrs S Bloggs - for example, just wasn't sure what to put on the inside.... As we're having quite a relaxed wedding we may just go with first names on the invitation itself for all guests - might just leave writing the Grandparent/Great Grandparents til last and see how we feel!

Is anyone having their invites written from their parents? Ours will be Mr X and Mrs X invite you to the wedding of their daughter, but I have just realised this will cause a problem with the invites for my Mum and Dad (will be sent separately as they are divorced)! As my Dad lives in Canada I want to send him an invite and I also I want my mum to have one but as they are the ones 'inviting' people how does this work?!
