Invitations

Mispinkprincess, 20 November, 2013 at 07:26 Posted on Planning 0 11

My fiancée works in print, which means I get to design my own invitations and they'll print them for us (for free!)

not sure what to design, would anyone mind sharing their invitations for inspiration?

TIA

Snap, my OH also works out a printers so I designed mine in Microsoft Publisher and he got them printed out for free ;-)

I love them, although they are a bit different and wouldn't be to everyone's taste...

We just kept them simple, they are double sided card; the invite is A5 and the RSVPs are A6.

www.dafont.com is really good for free fonts ;-)

They are right up my street! Can't see oh agreeing tho, he's more of a traditionalist! I love the wording!

    Thanks for the font site

Aw I'm so jealous! I'm only printing 'save the date' but I've had to alter my printing spec because the material and finishing I wanted was too expensive. Since you have this opportunity, I'd definitely work backwards. Between your fiancee and yourself, find out what finishing you want to achieve and then design it, is it embossing you like? Die cut? Block foiling? Screen print? Letterpress? Smooth soft touch lamination, rough recycled paper look etc etc. I always think of the end product first then design to it (I'm a graphic designer by trade).

I illustrated and designed my own (had to pay for my printing though *jealous*)

ive always loved dandelion clocks, and each seed is technically a wish so I thought it'd look good on our invites (order of service was very similar too) As you can see I also got stickers printed too. These attached a slip of paper inside with the invited persons name on, as well as sealing up our confetti bags.

Once we had sent them, our friends wanted me to do their invites using the same format. So I came up with this...

They are really nice well done!!!

*j9* These are the same style I want to do. I want to order some samples to play around with and just wondered when you ordered the inserts what size do you go for?

    Thanks
