Invitations recommendations please

germaki, 27 December, 2012 at 22:24 Posted on Planning 0 11

Have been looking for wedding invitations and am starting to lose the will Smiley sad

Have looked on vista print and nothing I liked on there at all.

i like the idea of pocket fold but only if the card has some kind of detailing rather than plain card, but I don't like the price lol.

Kind of leaning towards flat invites but I'm concerned that with the RSVP card and information sheet it's going to look silly and guests may lose bits of the invite if not all together like a pocket fold.

Can you recommend or send links to those you have used for your invites?

Thanks

Em x

    Hi

I got mine designed by someone on Etsy who then emailed the template to me and i have printed them off. This cost £22 for the design and has hardly cost me anything to print. Its a nice easy way of having everything done for you yet being DIY!

    for example:http://www.etsy.com/listing/94850302/gray-and-poppy-yellow-wedding-invitation?ref=sr_gallery_36&ga_search_query=wedding+invitation&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_ref=auto1&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=wedding+invitation

but there are loads of different people with different designs and they will change them to fit your design!

    Hi Em

Here's a list for you to have a look through - these are all highly recommended designers and many of them are HIBs on here. Pocketfolds don't have to cost the earth, it really depends on how much information you need to include and what type of decoration you want. You could also consider other kinds of pockets where all the bits go into a pocket like this:

Here's a list of stationery designers for you:

My website www.millieandme.net and on Facebook as 'Millie and Me'

    Pretty Wild www.prettywild.co.uk

    Bunny D www.bunnydelicious.co.uk

    www.xoxo-wedding.co.uk

    www.weddingparaphernalia.co.uk

    www.lucyledger.com

    www.twenty-seven.co.uk

    www.notonthehighstreet.com

    www.cardlab.co.uk

    www.hellolucky.co.uk

You'll get lots more great recommendations on here I'm sure!

    Have fun searching!!

Our daughter had flat invites made by Laura Maddox of Maddox Designs who was brilliant. What we did was print a separate sheet with the directions on with a tear off slip for the RSVP which when folded was the same size as the invite. In reality, of the 120 people invited to the ceremony, only two people used the RSVP and most used their sat navs for the directions! Most people sent separate acceptance or regret cards rather than use the tear off slip which I secretly hoped they would as they have kept them all as soveniers whereas bits of paper would have been binned.

You will often see on here that the hardest thing about invites is getting people to reply! Grrr!

I used https://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk/ as they had the biggest range of pocketfolds anywhere & were reasonably priced.

I went the part DIY option. They printed the invite & double sided inserts with maps & I glued them together. I also added ribbon, diamante heart, velcro dot to close & other embellishments. I just couldnt make the double sided inserts match up exactly or look professional when I attempted them on my home printer.

Rather than plain card for the pocketfold, I choose a broderie affect which is textured. There is another called tapestry which is also textured & looks similar. Depending of which shape of pocketfold, they come in black, cream, pale pink, blue, chocolate & I think a pale green.

    My friend does wedding stationary.

She will design something especially for you based on your ideas/themes.

She also has lots of choices for off the shelf invites etc

If you want she will come to your house and give you a lesson on how to make your invitations.

    Which works out cheaper.

Not sure on the exact web address as I'm on my phone but google postmans knock and that's her.

She is near Manchester and is highly recommended Smiley smile

My sister used www.myspecialinvitations.com and she was very pleased with the result. We plan to use them for our wedding too. They have a good range of handmade designs which they were happy to customise and they have free shipping too.
