Invitations - Too many to choose from.. Help!!! HIBs?!

BumbleBrat, 1 November, 2010 at 22:20 Posted on Planning 0 20

ARGH! Driving myself mad!

I want to order my invites at the end of the month once timings are finalised, completely gone off the idea of doing my own, I'd want a new printer, guillotine etc and by that point I'd have spent a fortune so might aswell get someone else to make them for me!

I know that I definitely want a printed design, I just prefer them, but I don't wanna go down the Vistaprint route this time.

I keep going back to Prettywilds amazing invitations and taunting myself! Smiley sad

Also, my budget is quite low - I really can't go more than £2 per invite. I'd need 20 day invites and 40 Evening invites.

Can anyone heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp?! My theme is vintage/shabby chic, Dusky pink, sage green with buttons, lace and pearls but I don't necessarily need them to match my theme exactly, I'm not that fussy, I just want beautiful invitations after looking through the flash post yesterday! ☹️ I tend to sway towards the tea party, birdcage style and leafy/tree type invitations!

Aaah - the frustrated taunted b2b! Well, I don't do printed styles, and I think thats what you'd prefer from what you've said but if you did want a more 'crafty' dusky pink sage buttons lace and pearls I could maybe help out do something within your budget ...

But if its printed you want then thats not really my area of expertise : ((

But you know where I am!

I'm not sure at what price PrettyWild's designs start at but it might be worth asking if there's a possibility she can do a simplifed version of a design so that there is less labour with sticking diamantes on, tying ribbon etc, layering card etc as all those bits will add to the price.

I've actually just had a look and some are £2.25/£2.50 with lots of layers and diamantes etc. so if you are only needing 60 invitations that's not too much of a difference. I think you could end up spending the same amount doing it yourself once you have bought everything you need, the glue (if you buy the stuff on the runners) works out expensive for the amount you could use and the price of ribbon really adds up.

I used PrettyWild for other bits for my wedding (guest book, BM cards and gift bags etc) but really wish I got her to make our invitiations. I was a stubbon cow though and always said to myself that I'd make my own so felt it was a cop out to not do it. I really wish Suz made them! She's amazing!

Lisa, I think that may be the way to go, after going back to PW's website time and time again, I think I'll be disappointed now if I don't have something from her.. Love them all!

Most stationery designers can work to a budget for you and will be happy to adapt designs to suit. Also, bear in mind that we can't possibly show everything on our websites and sometimes have designs that aren't on show that might work with your requirements too!

Whilst most of my work is hand finished rather than predominantly printed, there are a few designs which could work. There are some ideas in my facebook albums.

If you are after printed shabby chic, I can't recommend Pretty Wild highly enough - her work is simply stunning and definately worth treating yourself to!! (And she's very lovely as well!)
