Invite advice please!

BoroKate, 4 February, 2010 at 18:21 Posted on Planning 0 7

I've decided to have a go at making my own invitations to keep costs down and am regretting it more each day. This is my 1st draft and I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what else it needs. My colours are chocolate, gold and cream and as you can probably tell, I like to keep things simple.

Apologies for the blurry picture - my photography skills are about as good as my invite making skills?

Why does it need anything else? If you like things simple then I would keep it the way it is.

However, I am the least creative person in the world so someone a little more in on these things might be able to help some more!

    Sorry! ?

I like to class myself as reasonably creative and making my own invites (very similar with ribbon tied round the front)

My verdict..... fab. not too simple at all. If anything there is lots of detailing, ribbon, heart holes and and title (if thats the right choice of words) - I dont think you need to add anything else at all. However, I do understand your frustation; you spend ages making the 'right' mock up to constantly question if its right or not.

If I opened your invite I owuld be like 'oh, ah' {{{{gently fiddling with invite}}}}} 'lovely' - I would know the effort gone into it and feel special about being invited to your day!

I think your invite looks lovely. if you put anything else on it i think it might look a bit fussy or crowded. its just got the right amount of detail on it.

I also think they are fine as they are - I wouldn't add anything else at the risk of it becoming too fussy. Well done

    Hi

Many moons ago I used to make wedding stationery and I would actually say maybe simplify. I would perhaps do another heart cut out at the top right of the invitation and get rid of the little tag which says wedding invitation. They look beautiful and I think that the tag maybe clutters it a bit. Well done you and I totally sympathise with the wishing you hadn't even started! ?

Quick disclaimer.... I know nothing about being creative..... (but I did make my own invites too)

I think they are lovely but I'm not sure about the banner thing at the top.
