Invite Flash (finally)

Charlied, 11 January, 2010 at 18:28 Posted on Planning 0 18

After wrist ache (from lots of cutting), lots of paper in the fire and posing for photos, I finally have invites. except...... the day invite front cover isnt quite complete as we need to redo the picture for cover, taking it in the snow wont quite have the same effect. When we have that it will be larger than the one shown and wont have us in at all and will dangle like a tag on a present, reading 'wedding invite' carving into huge tree, but its currently buried in snow in our back garden.

Anyway, Im pretty pleased with my attempts and think they are abit different. For some reason I wanted photos in there I think I wanted it to reflect the element of fun. Opinions please and do you think the wording is ok? Have covered details with 'handmade by the bride' that will be stuck on the back of invites.

Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments, its always good to get your hard work recognised.

I didnt send STD (save the date, you filthy girl) so was thinking of sending day invites 4 months before, give them time to respond before I send out evening invites. So if anyone cant come I can bump someone from the evening up to the day, making them believe they were invited to the day allll along.

Hosw work going? I havent worked for over a week because of the snow and running out of money now!

Yes, yes they did. So fiddly as well. Word of advice dont buy a cheap version of spray mount. After making over 50 'Handmade by The Bride' I came down the next morning to find they had all come unstuck! My next mission is to stick all the mini pictures, backing and ribbon together.

I havent had any work either! However the school that I work at wed, thirs and fridays was open so I made it in everyday whereas most other schools had a snow day! Didnt have any supply Mon or tue last week or this week. Im hoping it will pick up next week!

I'm doing the same about invites probably send them around April time which gives people plenty of time to rsvp and book hotels and flights as oh has family in Trinidad and New york so need to give them plenty of time. Thought it would be easier to let everyone know at the same time.

Tried my dress on again yesterday (forgot my camera though so was annoyed with myself!) and I love it! Lady in shop is lovely as well as I said I wouldnt be back until April to try it and as I left she laughed and said see you in a couple of weeks! Of swimming in a mo to help me actually fit into the dress!!

    xx

How rubbish your school was open! 3 days a week is ideally what I want, I hate working full time. SUpply work will pick up, you will build a reputation amongst schools, particularly as you are straight out of a classroom, schools love that and hate old bids who dont know what currently going on in education. First week and last week of terms are always slow when your waiting for day-2-day work. MAybe sniff around for tutoring as well, I do that 2 1/2 days at the mo and its more money and much easier.

Cant wait to see your dress. Im too scared to try mine back on incase I rip it! Just tried on some work trousers from the summer (10) and cant even get them past my thighs, really need to step up this exercise lack! Enjoy your swim
