You know what I might send them out a bit before that maybe beginning of dec (before the xmas rush) then you can say rsvp middle of Jan - which leaves a couple of weeks to chase up anyone you need to

I'd say the week before. So the 24th of Jan. We're sending out invitations tomorrow for RSVP for 1st Oct. That's 3 weeks but it allows a couple of days for stragglers. I also have the option of RSVP by email.

We posted ours on 19th July with an rsvp by 1st Sept as we get married on 4th October. We are still short of over 30 replies yet so have had to phone and chase people! Give yourself plenty of time to get numbers back and the christmas post as well.

I would set the rsvp two weeks before to give you a chance to chase people up.

You would normally send out three months before with an RSVP of six weeks. So send them out middle November before the christmas rush with an RSVP of New Year's Eve

I have a three week gap between the RSVP date and giving venue final numbers.

Well I had the4 RSVP date set 6 weeks before I had to give final numbers and after excessive chasing and finally an ultimatum I had my last RSVP (by phone) at 9.30pm the the day before I had to give final numbers!! Hardly anyone got there RSVPs back to me before the set date so I'd give yourself a few weeks for chasing.

I agree with cheska, send them out a bit earlier that way you can ask for the rsvp earlier, which will give you plenty of time to sort your final numbers and table plan.
