Invite wording

JayneysGettingMarried, 6 June, 2016 at 12:04 Posted on Planning 0 4

So what do your invites say? I'm feeling a little stumped as to how to word ours. I want something formal, but not ott. Help!

This is our wording because my parents are paying, so we went the traditional route Smiley smile

Both are sides are contributing equal amounts to the wedding fund. So I'm thinking of going with the 'together with our families' route as otherwise half my invite will be taken up by both h2bs parents name and my mums and steps dads name - they aren't married - and the balance symmetry won't look right!

Sounds like a good plan. Something along the lines of......

Together with both of our families

    Jaynesgettingarried and husband to be

Invite you to their wedding on ..at..

If families are contributing maybe run the wording past them to check there are no major objections.

    Ours are:

    Together with their parents
    Name & Name
request the honour of the company of
    ____(line for written name)
    at their marriage on
    Date
    Time
Venue and afterwards at Reception Venue

Our evening ones are a little less formal with:

    Name & Name
    would love the company of
    _____(line for written name)
    at their evening reception on
    Date
    Time
    Venue

Although I don't think our day one is that formal either Smiley smile
