invite wording question

xmasbride11, 26 July, 2011 at 21:25 Posted on Planning 0 7

I have made my invites on vistaprint but have a question...

I can't on vistaprint personalise each and every invite so my options are

1) hand write guests names myself (which is going to in my opinion ruin my lovely invites with my terrible scrawl!)

2) just have on the invite 'we invite you to attend...' but then I am worried that is going to confuse people as to whether they have a plus one or whether their children can come etc etc

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not sure how helpful this is going to be, as I made sure we got names printed onto the invitations for that very reason...

but would it help to have RSVPs printed, onto which you can write the names of the people invited? You could maybe do business cards on Vistaprint and hand-write the names on there... it won't matter if they're a bit messy as they come back to you anyway, but it lets people know exactly who is invited (along with putting their names on the envelope).

I wanted to get my invites personalised (either by getting a kit to print them myself, or paying for it), but the OH insists that they are all handwritten as he says it's more personal.

I am the same as you that my handwriting isn't great so I'm making the OH do it! Do you know someone with better handwriting than you that would be willing to assist?

I have got my invites from vista print, and had the same worries. I decided to getting them printed saying 'request the honour of your presence'

I have then decided to do my own sleeve, and then on the front type a name tag to say who the invite is actually for. This is a test copy for is actually written, but I will type them out

I just had a quick think and have maybe come up with a plausable idea for you?

How about leaving the space for the extra personalised text you want to add, and then using your computer add the text you want, in the place you want, and then just print it yourself?

It ws this dilemma that led to me printing my invitations at home, with individual names on each. My invitations were largely text-based though, so there weren't photos to show up lesser quality photo printing problems, if you know what I mean? The "tag" idea is good. Or you could print the names on strips of paper and wrap that, ribbon-like, around the invitation?
