Invites - How long before do you send out invites?

3-4 months beforehand.

I get married on 1st September and want to send them now! Will probably wait until March but there's no "right" or "wrong" time. A lot of people wait until three months before but I think the more notice the better, especially as people often need to book hotels and maybe time off work (our wedding's on a Sunday so lots of people will need the Monday off).

We had an August Bank Holiday wedding and sent our first batch of invitations out around Feb/Mar. So six months.

We are getting married the 31st August and the plan is to send them out at the end of February mainly as half our guests will be coming from Belfast and some of them will want to book flights so wanted to give them enough time so that they can book early if they want to.

Im getting married in Manchester and guess from your name that you are based in manchester where are you getting married?

Sending family invItes out at end of March with 4 weeks RSVP time, then friends invites end of April with RSVP for end of may. Finally may invites out and back by end of June. Im an August wedding too :-)

We sent our day invites out 5 months before hand, with RSVP's to be in 2 months before hand. At the 2months before, evening invites went out with RSVP of 1 month before hand.

We're getting married on 6th September and sending our invites this weekend! (eek) Lot's of people (hopefully) travelling a fair distance including overseas so wanted to give people plenty of time to book transport and time of work etc.

There are no hard and fast rules, just do what you feel is right!

I would say 6 months. Espcially if you have people coming from overseas so they can book their flights and hopefully get an ok price.

Im the 7th Sept and going to send ours out in June (our hotel needs final numbers 4 weeks beforehand)

jeenaj81 - I get married on the 25th August (bank holiday sunday) at Stannylands in Wilmslow. Where abouts in Manchester will you be getting married? xxx

We are also an August bank holiday wedding and are hoping to send ours out end of February.. If I ever finish making them.

Its lovely at Stannylands - we are getting married at manchester town hall and having the reception there - I just cant wait feel so excited xx
