IPOD - which one would you choose...

Melawen, 20 July, 2008 at 18:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

I think I know but am just wondering which you would choose and why?

I don't need a high capacity one and I'm not bothered particularly about videos so I think I'm going to go for either a shuffle or a nano.

I have a pink Nano and.. er... I think I've lost it. ? Either that or it's slipped inside a book or newspaper, down the side of a chair or under the sofa. I wish I could have afforded something a bit less inconspicuous. ?

I have a hot pink 2nd generation nano and I absolutely love it. The capacity is perfect for me, don't need something huge because I like to change it quite regularly anyway. I wouldn't get a shuffle because I like being able to see what is playing and to skip through, select certain artists/albums etc and play the games ?

I got one of the 3rd gen nano's from the reconditioned section in red, It's fabby, I love it! (actually it's a birthday present and my Bday isn't until the end of September but my parents let me have it early bless them)

I have got a 1st generation Nano which I've had for a few years now, but it's enough for me - it's got a reasonable capacity for music although it hasn't got video. The only problem with mine is that it's from back in the days when they weren't scratch-proof, so I have to keep it in a horrid rubbery case. I would probably go for another Nano if I was getting one now, although I secretly covet Mr Caterpillar's Ipod Touch (like an Iphone without the phone).

The iTouch. It's so much more that just videos. It's Internet, facebook, email, music. It's great.

I have a 3rd gen 8GB ipod nano (Black). I lurve it. It's got enough capacity for me, I have plenty songs on it and some video stuff for the wee one, and some podcasts too and still have plenty of space, and it's dinky enough to fit into even the smallest handbag.

I have bought a Nano 3rd gen today - It's great and better than I thought it would be.

Well I think (and thanks for the refurb link Bowski) that I'm going to go for a IPOD nano - probably 4gb unless I can find an 8gb going cheap anywhere (so LP - if you want to sell one of your ipods I know someone who would be interested ?).

I think for the amount that I would use it that there's no point going for anything whizzbangier (is that a word?) and tbh if I can't get a secondhand one I'm probably going to end up either putting it on the Christmas list - in which case I may well end up going for the 8gb - or see if I can persuade Simon into letting me have one for the anniversary which is a bit sooner!

Edited to say thanks for everyone's input into that decision!

We are having a similar ipod dilemma.... I have a 4th gen ipod (black and white screen 20gb).... H has a 4gb nano.... problem is... all our music is on my ipod (for general home use).... and we only have about 1gb space left... so will run out of space soon!!! I would LOVE a nano for myself but for an extra 60 pounds we can get an ipod with much bigger music space.... which we will need at some point!!!

I am shallow and rekon if they did the ipods in nice colours like the nanos and shuffles I would be happier getting one!!!

Catcat - have you got an ipod classic then? See if I go for a nano 4gb - the refurbs only come in silver so that would be what I would have to go for but I believe that you can get funky cases for them so that's always an option I guess!
