frenchie19/06/2010, 3 February, 2010 at 12:16 Posted on Planning 0 22

?Hello!

I saw in a previous post that some of you girls are getting married in ipswich or in the area!
Any one who would happen to know a good makeup artist and a good hairdresser ( who would be prepared to come to my house on the day)

We are getting married at the holiday inn orwell on ransomes europark previously called the marriot.

Thanks girlies! ?

Hiya. Glad to see more Ipswichers on here.

I'm using Ann Dickson. She's in Ipswich. I came across her at a weeding fair. she's in the phone book. She's coming out to me and I live near Framlingham. Sh'es reasonably priced too.

For hair i'm using my hairdresser which is in my village.

Just her book at a wedding fair. But she had worn the products herself that day and didnt look cementy or too orange for my liking, I'm very pale so dont like the tango'd look!!

She was in a bridal mag a while back. the suffolk bridal one. she has a website but it says under construction. lol

Hi, I'm getting married at Isaacs! I think I'll do my own makeup, and either my cousin will do my hair, or my local hairdresser (Shades on Woodbridge Rd) will do it. Shades only charge £80 for 3 trial sessions and then the one on the day, but that's in the salon. Don't know if they'd come out to your house though...

    Yay Ipswich brides ?

I haven't really got an idea about the prices of hair/make up, its something i do need to look into. my friend said that theres a hair dresssers near the venue on Ransomes some where? but i don't know where she means. my hairdresser is in Brantham but shes naff at hair "dos."

i booked the venue 10 months ago. so far i've booked the registra and given notice, spoken to a friend of a friend about photography, put the deposit down for cake and flowers, got my centre pieces sorted, invites and favors half done and more importantly i've got my dress!! what about you?

i'm still debating on if i should get chair covers or not....have you thought about chair covers?

That's my aunty, uncle and cousin's salon! Haven't seen my cousin for about a year now (seeing her next week though ? ) but think they still run it. No idea how much they charge but it's perfect for your venue. Small world!

There's loads of cake suppliers. Loads came up on a google search. And get yourself to the local wedding fairs. They're a good place to find out the local suppliers x

Crafty Em - I'm getting married at the Belstead Brook next year!! Did you go for chair covers because from when i last went and had a poke around the room was really colourful and thought they might "tame" it down. I love the cake you had too definately something to pop in my scrapbook.

I didn't realise there were so many Ipswichers on here! x

Is that cake supreme? Ive heard their cakes are really good but I thought they would be expensive. I was thinking of just having a marks & spencers cake and putting my own touches on it but yours is much cheaper!

Hi Emmsie, the room is really colourful,

i didn't use chair covers as i had a red wedding dress so the decor worked for me, my bms were in black and ivory, looking back though, and having seen the difference chair covers make, i think i would have had them. Wish i had bought some different table clothes for the front tables though, they were blue, which i didn't realise til the day, i assumed they'd be white.

    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=360339&l=692fcd5f89&id=1469162935

some pics from my day, including our elvis impersonator in the evening (not a huge elvis fan, but he was brilliant and a close friend, so got everyone up and dancing), we had lawn games to keep the kids happy and hopefully away from the Brook, also an extra table in the corner to use for craft bits, which kept the kids quiet all though the speeches and while waiting for courses to be served.

Sally is lovely at cake flair, she made by first wedding cake too, are you having a DJ?

    x

edited to say sorry for the huge pics lol

You look gorge and so happy :o) your dress is stunning

I tried to look at the pics but FB wouldn't let me scroll through. we aren't getting married at Belstead so we shouldn't have to worry about the blue table covers but i will keep that in mind. I think i might have to try and persaude OH that chair covers are the way forward. I'm realy stuck on a colour scheme too arhg, so many decisions!!

Yeah we are gonna have a dj but haven't sorted that one yet xxx
