Irish goodie lovers - PSA

HeidiHole, 22 February, 2009 at 19:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

My son came home today with a big bag of goodies from my mum, in it was two 2 litre bottles of Cidona, two 2 litre bottles of Nash's red lemonade, a packet of Mikados and a packet of Kimberley's.

Where did she find these culinaries delights I hear you ask.........the international food aisle in Asda, next to the Polish and Jamaican food ?

They also have Barry's tea, but I don't really drink tea so she didn't send me any. Go forth and fill your boots.

Mmmmm, Cidona <burp>

We have Barry's tea in our "British" food section. I'd never heard of it before and thought it was just these silly Americans.

Are Mikado's long thin biscuits covered in chocolate? They were when I was a kid and we were on holiday in France - they are lovely! Didn't know they were an Irish thing!

Me too (the French ones!) - they are so nice dipped in coffee so they go melty!

The Irish ones sound more like teacakes.

Holio, I can't believe you didn't know Asda had an Irish section. I've known for ages. ? It's not great though, I don't particularly drink tea and I'm not that bothered about Mikado or Kimberley biscuits, nor red lemonade, so I only ever collect pick up Cidona there. They don't sell Tayto, nor Moro, nor Tiffin. However, there should be a parcel winging its way to me this week containing those goodies, so I'll be letting you know. ?

There's no Asda near me, Ostrich, probably just as well <already enough of a bloater icon> ?

How can you not love Kimberleys? The chocolate ones are wronger than a wrong thing, but the gingery marshmallowey loveliness of the original is fabulous!

I'll wait for contact when the eagle has landed ?
