Is anyone having a UK honeymoon?

Cornelius, 21 March, 2010 at 18:50 Posted on Planning 0 17

As the title says really. We are undecided where to go as we wont have too much money to play with. I'd love to go to Scotland or Ireland as never been. We also both love Cornwall.

Has anyone had a good holiday somewhere in the UK that you would recommend?

My H2B has a rather spectacular Scottish honeymoon itinerary booked. Just got back today from a mini break in North Devon and it was one of the best weekends I've ever had. I like holidays in the UK Smiley smile

We had an awesome Scotland holiday last June - we drove up and covered Edinburgh. Stirling, Glasgow, Loch, Lomond, Oban, Mull & Aviemore. So it was quite varied. The scenery is amazing & I really like Glasgow - it's v funky.

I've never been to Cornwall & am now saving it for 1st baby holiday when we can load up the car and head down there.

We're honeymooning in the Loch Ness area. We've booked a B&B which is a couple of minutes from the shoreline of the Loch.

We are having our minimoon in Dundee...not one of the greatest cities but the lodges there are fab. Check out Piperdam, they have executive lodges with jacuzzi and sauna....and you're in the highlands in no time....I'm soooo looking forward to it!

We had a holiday in Scotland a few years ago - always wanted to go but never got round to it - and I must say, I was blown away by the scenery. We just drove up, stayed in Carlisle on the way overnight and then up to Fort William. Stayed in a wonderful B&B up there and visited Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and around and about the area. Popped in to Inverness for the day and I have to say, it ranks as one of the best holidays we have ever had. I'll never forget driving on the open roads with the mountains either side of us and not a soul in site! It was Autumn time and the colours were just spectacular. Everything seems so BIG in Scotland, the skies and the landscapes and the breakfast helpings ? As a Yorkshire lass, I never thought I would see anything that matched the magic of the Yorkshire Moors but Scotland takes some beating!

That's what we're doing too Steelgoddess.

We're going to centre parcs for the week after as we can take the dog and I used my NHS discount lol. (if you work for NHS you can get some money off). and then hopefully somewhere hot and sunny before christmas.

If anybody is thinking of scotland, don't forget the East coast. That's just as pretty as the west coast. I grew up there. ?

We're going here for a mini-moon http://www.losehillhouse.co.uk/ and then will take our main honeymoon later in the year. There's some amazing lodges around that work out cheaper, but OH wanted a hotel.
