king george, 25 August, 2010 at 21:24 Posted on Planning 0 7

I am having about 20 children under 10 to my wedding and as it is winter they will not be able to run outside in reception drinks etc, I am thinking of getting a balloon modeller who is amazing I have worked with him before and was was fab and he is also part of the magic circle so does walkabout adult magic as well thought maybe to keep people occupied at reception drinks before meal what does everyone think( I know that loads of people are not having kids at their wedding, but I'm sure some must be )

Yes we are going to do activity pack on tables etc and they have a kids corner in church which is good, Trying to think of things that the can keep the kids amused so parents can also relax, I like the activity area and we could def do that at our venue Thanks x

Hi! Yep we have nearly 20 kids coming of all different ages so we're having lawn games and a bouncy castle (May wedding so can get away with it). As a bad weather contingency plan, I'd definitely go for something like a balloon modeller though - great idea!

I think you can prepare some toys in advenace. Of course most of children like toys. If they concentrate on the toys, the adults can enjoy themselves.

As a DJ....I often do early evening kids entertainment such as games, dances and balloon modelling....usually in the lull between the end of the meal and start of the evening disco.

Surprisingly....there's quite a lot of us that do! I was talking to a guy based in Norfolk and he actually offers a magic show for the kids just before the disco. I know of many others that will get the kids together and do some daft games with them (my friend in Staffs area does). Try asking your DJ if they could do something like this. Most offer it as part of the service, but even if they charge an extra fee, it would still be more cost effective than getting another supplier in.
