To be honest i wasn't going to have one, and still in a sense i'm not.

But there are going to be some kids at the night time do, so have a few different types of sweets for them, and i fell in love with the heart shaped lollies i just bought, and thought the female guests would appreciate them, especially with it being close to valentines day for our wedding (19th feb) xxx

    I'm not having one either!

It doesnt really appeal to me and I would rather spend the money elsewhere. I dont have many kids coming, plus I'm more of a savory person anyway.

I'm not either, although I am giving sweets as favours but only because I found some Lego-style ones. We have a three course meal as part of our package, so will be serving the wedding cake as dessert at the evening buffet. I did look into having a fruit palm tree to go alongside the cake, but only found one company who supplied to Rugby, and she would only provide two palms with extra fruit, and wanted £300 for this, which is out of our budget. It was only really for my FIL2B who is diabetic, and I thought might like some fruit instead of the cake. Maybe I'll just buy him a banana!

We are having one, not in the main room though in the "spare" room next door.

We have about 20 kids coming, but these sweeties are for the adults, not the kids. ?.

My OH and brother adore sticky sweets - so it's kind of incorporating their personalities.

    Hello

We have over 30 kids coming to the wedding, but i have decided not to do a sweetie table.

But as we are getting married Easter weekend, I have decided to do an Easter egg hunt in the grounds of the venue.

Hopefully all the running around looking for the eggs, will help get rid of all that energy.

I personally dont like younger kids at weddings, thats not intended to offend anyone who is having kids at their wedding, just my feelings.

I'm not! We aren't having children at our wedding either, but that's not why we're not having one.

I'm not. my OH has just got over some gum disease he had (through a combination of his determination and my constant nagging) so I don't want anything undoing all his good work!

We're not having one! We're having a full meal with desert (obv) and then a hot & cold buffet in the evening, probably with the wedding cake. We feel that it would probably go to waste. We're thinking of doing homemade treats as the favours though, in both a cost cutting bid and in the hope of making it personal. So far I'm thinking we'll make tablet, cookies, brownies, and possibly strawberries dipped in chocolate and little pots of jam (any other easy homemakable treat ideas welcome) which will be in little bags on the table fro everyone as favours. Figure doing a candy buffet alongside this really will be overkill!

Im not - couldnt be bothered & I can just imagine the mess with my little terror cousins! lol

Though at our evening buffet we are having a 'cupcake' cake - our venue has 4 cake stands and we are using one for our main cake at the meal (4 tier, chocolate, madeira, lemon & one fake tier) and using another for 500 mini cupcakes at night.

A local cafe is making them & they are amazing - crunchie, mint aero, orea, carrot, vanilla, lemon ...oh I cant even remember them all, Ive told them just to do a selection - I LOVE them all. My friend works in the cafe & if they are ever throwing them out she gives me them - good as new when heated in microwave! lol

They were another of my sod it moments!

I love cake & I dont want it wall being dished out to evening guests - I want us all (me, oh, our parents etc) to have some cake to take home with us - i remember my cousin didnt even get a bit of her own cake cause she was too full after the meal & the venue just put i all out at night! I'd have been ragin!

Well I haven't bought them yet, but will be getting them from ebay. They are not proper Lego, but interlocking bricks, it's close enough for me! They will be eaten anyway!

Much better idea than a sweetie table!

I'm not having sweets, I think it's much better suited to a teenage birthday party than a wedding. We will be having our own label beer and liqueur as favours though!

I'm not either, there will probably be only 3 children so they won't get eaten. Have to admit they look good though. I think a chocolate fountain would be more popular with my guests.

I'm not. Just doesn't fit in in my mind plus we've only having some children in the evening so didn't think it worth it. OH not keen on the idea anyway!

I'm not - my venue doesn't allow you to bring in anything like that. And,tbh, it would just be another detail to stress over. We're having a three course meal with the most beautiful creme brulee for pudding and then we're having a hot buffet with our chocolate wedding cake also being served at night.

Even I would struggle to stuff my face with sweeties after all that!
