Have you got a copy of the Scottish wedding directory - there is loads and loads of venues in there.

Also look at the National Trust as they have castles etc - Fyvie castle is lovely....

It might be a bit too far North, but for years we used to go and stay at the Coul House Hotel, in Contin, which is about 30 mins North of Invenerness on the road between Dingwall and Wick (I think!). It's an idyllic setting with lovely rooms. Have a look at www.coulhousehotel.com

If you are in Abrdeenshire thre are loads of beautiful venues,

Fyvie Castle, Haddo House, Crathes castle, Drum castle are some that spring to mind

I'm trying to get a list of places that I can go and view in May as I'm in Manchester and the internet just wasn't playing ball with my searches!!

Cheska, we are hoping to get married in 2010, very flexible with the dates just v. unsure of how it will all pan out. Lets just say we have conflicting ideas that are causing a few hiccups with the numbers! :o)

bygeorge - thanks for that link, think you are right with you road, I used to travel along that on way to and from Inverness to Ullapool. Its lovely up there.
