Is/ has anyone hired a dancefloor?

emmyroo22, 25 July, 2009 at 16:54 Posted on Planning 0 3

Been to see the venue again today and i got to thinking (dangerous!!)...

Should i have a 'dance floor'

The area by the bar will become a dance floor, but the room is kind of an upsidedown T shape with the bar down the whole right hand side of the room, the DJ is intending to set up in botton right corner and the dance floor infron of it. It is carpeted at the moment, do most people have an actual dance floor put down? cant say ive ever noticed!! just started looking at prices annd they seem ridiculously expensive to hire!!

Opinions and experiences pleeeeease.................

If its a hotel, most have their own wooden dance floor that they lay during turn around, or a well conceiled piece of carpet that they lift up to reveal a dance floor. Have you spoken to your venue to ask what they normally do? I have a friend who hires out LED dance floors. I personally think they look great, but as you say, its another big expense to factor in.

Thats a point, i never really thought about asking them!! i will do.

was looking at the LED dance floors they look amazing! my H2B would be in his absolute element with one of them, it'd pretty much be the best present ever as he is such a gadget freak!! they are soo pricey tho ☹️

Yes what sandysounds said, a lot of venues have to them to avoid wear on heavy traffic areas such as dance floors.

If there was one thing I would have loved but didn't it's a Studio 54-esque flashy dance floor. Would have been soooooo cool! But way too expensive, and we probably would have had to go with a different venue too as it wouldn't have looked right, but still....
