Is it normal.....?

welshnat, 4 July, 2013 at 16:49 Posted on Planning 0

Me and OH got engaged the week before Easter this year and I jumped straight into planning. We quickly decided on the colour scheme apple green, and we paid a deposit on a venue.

About a month ago I got huge second thoughts about our venue and now we have gone through every other option including abroad. We are now looking at about 5 or 6 venues and we will make the decision by the end of the month.

The colour scheme seems really hard to match up so I am having doubts about that too. I am leaning more towards dusky pink & grey/silver or black, ivory & silver.

Sooo I have 2 questions:

Did anyone else have so many doubts?

Which colour scheme do you think would be best for a summer wedding?

I don't think a colour scheme should dictate your venue choice. Of course, your general preference for colours - pastels, dramatic, neon, etc - might represent a part of your personality that would naturally come out when choosing a venue. But don't walk into rooms thinking "Perfect. Oh, but those curtains aren't the right shade".

Pick a venue you love, then work with it. We booked the first one we saw - it was perfect for us.

I don't think there's an answer to your "colour scheme for summer weddings" question. However, I don't think I see black and silver as an obvious choice (in my cabbage). We were August and went with pale golds and pinks to wear (boys in grey), then pale pink/hot pink/purple/red in decor (which matched the venue).
