Adults and well behaved children are requested to join us for our wedding on ...

hehe, ok, so I'm joking, but would be nice hey?

You could always ask a family member if they will be on 'child watch duty'.... Just ask them to keep an eye on the children and if the look like they are about to trash the place, give the parents a little nudge.... ?

I'd say just gag them and tie them up as they arrive!

Very reasonable! I hate it when peoples children are not well behaved - I was at a party a while back where they had balloon centre pieces - the parents pulled all the balloons off them and gave them to the kids to run around with - I would have been livid! As my parents used to tell me - Little girls (and boys) should be seen but not heard! I quite like the idea of using the sash to tie them to the chair lol x

I love kids andtwo me, the day wouldn't be the same without the laughter they bring. I have loads of kids coming but 5 boys are (for want of a better word) basically little shits. I have no problem with telling them or their parents to stop messing about. I have a 3yr old myself and she is (thankfully) such a good girl. Their parents know that I dont stand for messing. So they will keep tabs on them!

Other side of it is that I'll be so wrapped up in the day I'll probably not notice!

I'm a teacher, so the thought of children misbehaving at my wedding fills me with dread, luckily my mum is a head teacher so will be on duty to give them 'the look' It is a special look that teachers develop that can stop children of a certain age dead in their tracks lol.

I want to know how to word 'if your child starts so cry or scream during my vows or speeches please remove them from the room' without being offensive. You would think that it was common sense but I am not convinced that everyone would. we will have probably about 6-7 children at our wedding aged between 6 month-13 years and I don't want to ban children from the day at all, but I do want my non child loving guests to be able to hear the vows and speeches.

I´m wondering this myself as we have a few friends who let their kids run riot. At a wedding in the summer one couple let their 3 year old run in the aisle in the church. ?

I´m tempted to write in the Order of Service "Please switch your mobiles and children to silent before the ceremony."

A good friend of mine got married in August 2010, she invited couples who brought their children. 3 of the kids ran riot through the room where the ceremony was held - while they were saying their vows. My pal was none too pleased, even more so when someone's mobile started to chime. I will most definitely be requesting that mobiles be switched to silent or off on my order of the day. It is just plain rude not to put phones on silent. There won't be any kids running riot as they're all verging on teens Smiley smile
