Is it worth getting a Nintendo DS repaired?

allymc, 11 July, 2009 at 16:53 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

It appears that my 14 month old has at some point in the last few days slobbered over my DS lite. When I go to turn it on the top screen flickers for a second then it goes off. Has anyone every had one repaired? Just wondering if it's cost effective. Any recs on where to get it repaired if so?

TIA ?

My top screen got cracked somehow (no one would own up) and my OH replaced it himself. I think it was just a case of soldering the wires in for the speakers and reconnecting the wire thingy. It worked a treat until yet again one of the kids broke the screen (they have now been banned from using it). We bought our screen on Ebay for about £10 I think and it came with the little screwdriver that was needed too.

I don't know if tht would be an option for you at all but I hope that helps.

My son got one of the buttons stuck on his DS, I got a number for Nintendo, they sent out a postage label for me to send it off and they repaired it, cost me nothing, but then he only got it for Christmas last year, so was still under warranty.
